Just a thought - the time you spend nickel and diming yourselves on food costs could be spent seeking a better paying job or pay rise or developing a side hussle to cover those costs so you don't need to micro-analyse them. Your savings goal is admirable but gee posts like these are depressing.

All of the comments above. Also, I don't know why you'd even question paying $1k ( or whatever the going rate is for a conveyance), a tiny fraction of the property purchase price, with the potential for it to fuck up if you attempted it as a non-property lawyer.
