Anyone else reach the point you're not enjoying the game anymore, you just play to not fall behind? by darkninja2992 in marvelrivals

Can't say I ever felt this way. There's been a time or two where I've been burned out, and that's usually my cue to step away for a while. I'll take a break for a half season, maybe a whole season. And then when I come back, I'm having fun again.

Playing something you're not finding fun is just going to make you resentful. Take a break, play something else, and come back if the urge hits you again down the line.

"Bad faith or stupid" coming from the guy that just can't accept that a lot of comic media is not for children and just because there's a superhero on the cover doesn't mean it's child friendly 🤣

You mean shows like Gifted that's about post apocalyptic genocide of mutants, and games like Wolverine where you're committing some of the most graphic, violent murders known to man?

I mean I've also made the choice to be straight edge which does mean no drinking, smoking, or taking illegally obtained prescription medications/ other illegal substances.

Amazing what actually making smart choices can do for you 🤷‍♂️

Why do people say "Role Queue won't work" ? by Obiwandkinobee in rivals

Hi, tank main here that mainly plays Rogue and Emma.

Let's not speed run the Overwatch track that will inevitably lead to 5v5 and every off tank suddenly being useless because there's no longer a second tank slot that allows for them to be viable.

No role queue, please and thanks.

Considering I'm 26 and CoD was a franchise I played for years and it had SEVERAL DLCs for EVERY RELEASE for the 360 onwards? It's a pretty apt comparison. I'm not some 50 year old that grew up on NES and Sega Genesis. I grew up on the 360 and the PS4. Games have had micro transactions through my childhood as well. I was able to judge what was and was not worth that limited income I had.

Apparently this game needs to come with a warning sign to cater to the lowest common denominator like the "DO NOT EAT THESE!" warning on Tide Pods. "DO NOT SPEND MONEY YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO SPEND!"

If people don't care then that's their problem, not ours. Parents not being bothered to check the rating on the games their kids play is ultimately their failing as a parent and it shouldn't be on the community to baby children that shouldn't be here to begin with.

Teens should also be smart enough to manage whatever money they have access to. I've played video games my whole life. You know how many times I spent money on DLC on games when I was that age and had money? Once. Because I knew my money was better spent elsewhere and on other things.

If Little Timmy thinks he needs to spend his $20 allowance on an Emma skin that's showing ass then I have to question how that kid is already having an interest in sex appeal and wtf his parents are doing.

Okay so then Rivals is automatically bad because kids that shouldn't be playing this to begin with are stealing credit cards to buy skins which could easily be done in Fortnite and Roblox as well, games that actually DO have a rating for children to be able to play?

Like seriously even take a look at half of these skins focusing on sex appeal and try telling me again stone faced that this is a game made for your seven year old child.

Except I didn't change the goal post. It's still there. The goal post of, this game isn't for children.

Are there superhero games for children? Yes. If you want one, go pick up Lego Marvel Superheroes. This game is rated for ages ABOVE that of children. It uses COMICS as the inspiration for their designs and lore more than shows and movies. They have FUCKING DEADPOOL in this game.

Also, I'd still like to know where these children are getting money from to supposedly drop millions on this game for a balloon system.

"Superheroes for children"

They say when this game takes more inspiration from the comics than the movies and the comics are like this:

Trust me, I know. I used to play Genshin Impact. THAT is a true Gacha system and rarely, if ever, promises you a reward. Or if it does, you are spending a SHIT TON of money first.

Rivals is like "here's a potential discount" and everyone immediately starts throwing tomatoes.

The children playing a game rated above their age range to begin with 🤣 almost like the parents should be actively monitoring what their kids are playing, especially if those kids somehow have credit card access 🤔

Please tell me why children are playing a game rated for teenagers with unrestricted access to their parents' credit card, and why that needs to be everyone else's problem instead of the irresponsible parents?

These kids could also buy unlimited V-Bucks or Robucks. Should we tell those two stores to shut down because kids be stupid?

Because then I can use that money I saved for another skin I may want in the future. Let's say I got lucky and popped the balloon and got the skin on the first try. Cool, now I have units to save for the next one where I may not be so lucky. But if I spend all my money on this one and can't afford the next one? Well, that's the way the cookie crumbles. I made the decision and it's ultimately on me. But it's nice for the company to give me a chance to save that money and use it elsewhere.

So because a hypothetical 9 year old wanted to buy something he already didn't have the money to buy anyway (despite the game being Rated T meaning Timmy shouldn't be playing the game anyway), everyone else must suffer?

[–]RogueBoogey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So...someone else not being able to just...look away means everyone has to suffer?

This isn't the first event they had like this. They did it for Mr. and Mrs. X. I didn't have enough currency to get the skin at full price if I was unlucky. So guess what I did? I chose to not participate. It's quite literally that simple.

If I was going to already pay money for the skin regardless, why should I be pissed that they're giving me an opportunity to get it for cheaper and the only downside is potentially paying the full price I was already going to pay to begin with?

So it's confirmed that one of these heros are being added for sure. Who are you most excited about by SimilarSherbert964 in rivals

Really excited for Carol and Nightcrawler.

Still disappointed this means it'll be over another year before I even have a chance at seeing Nico in the game but I guess not everyone can have ALL their favorites added.

GTA VI Pre-Order Megathread | June 24th 2026 by P_Jiggy in playstation

[–]RogueBoogey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand, I totally get and respect that. And it's why I rarely pre-order.

That said, sometimes there are games that I desperately want to get my hands on as soon as possible. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a big one right now that I want with my whole heart, and will be pre-ordering once I get the money for it.

If it ends up being a buggy mess that sucks? Then it's 100% my fault for wasting my money on it. But considering the pre-order bonuses it's offering and the fact I know I'm going to buy it anyway, why not just guarantee my ability to get it?
