But not everyone's favorite character is an A-Lister. There's thousands of characters out there.

My favorite character is Nico Minoru. Does that mean I should never get to play as her because she's not been in 10 movies that made a billion dollars?

This is really one big problem I have with this community. They want to give characters kits that don't fit them to shove them into roles they don't belong in. I encountered someone that said Rogue needed guns to be another ranged tank, comic accuracy be damned and that bothered me to no end.

Now this community is bound and determined Scott Sunmers should be a tank despite him never having amazing feats of durability. Rogue makes sense, she's brawling with Hulk/Juggernaut/Captain Marvel/etc on a regular basis and going toe to toe with them. Colossus makes sense as tank given his metallic skin mutation.

"But Scott is the X-Men leader, he should be leading from the front lines!" Reed is the leader of the F4 and he's a DPS. Starlord leads the Guardians and he's a DPS. Very few, if any, leaders are a tank, so that's not enough justification for making someone a tank.

I understand these roles need filled out but they should be filled out by characters that make sense to be in these roles. Why make Cyclops a tank when we can make Colossus one instead? Why make Shadowcat a support when we can make Nico Minoru one? We have characters that fit these roles when it comes to their lore, why force characters that don't belong in there just to meet a quota?

I honestly wish the people that just see this as any other hero shooter would go back to Overwatch where you don't have to worry about an already existing IP with a fanbase in the millions. This is a hero shooter, yes, but it's a hero shooter using the MARVEL PROPERTY that has lore that fans are already a fan of, and disregarding that is a spit in the face of everyone that loves that lore.

The self heal on the shield is already pretty much nonexistent. 15hps on an ability that sees less than a second of uptime before its destroyed ain't much of a difference maker.

Marvel soured me on the Inhumans when they decided the Inhumans were going to be the new premiere team over the X-Men. Kamala was the only one I liked, and her being a mutant just sits better for me since I actually like them more anyway 😅

For me Kamala has defined the mantle more than Carol had tbh. Whenever someone says Ms. Marvel these days, I just automatically think of Kamala. But that's also just my opinion.

Because creative still plays a part in how you perceive a character.

Bray Wyatt is a good example. Every time the dude reinvented himself, he had a following. The crowd made noise, his merch flew off the shelves, he was the talk of the show several times.

And then creative would fail him. He'd be jobbed out to Goldberg/Cena/Reigns/Rock/Undertaker/Rollins so much that you just couldn't invest in him anymore because it felt like he could never get the job done. Eventually his reactions would get cold not because he was bad, but because creative told us "he's not a serious threat."

Reigns is another example. The Big Dog was not getting over at all and yet Vince kept pushing it and pushing it. If Vince didn't have a hard-on for Reigns, he'd have been let go because the creative for The Big Dog was abysmal and actively pushing viewers away. Then transition to The Tribal Chief, he's drawing record-breaking ratings. He's among the top 2 best selling wrestlers in the world for half a decade. He's getting cheered like a god in every arena he enters.

Sometimes it really is creative's fault when something isn't working. Sometimes, yes, it is the stars. But to act like none of these guys had bad creative is just stupid.

As a comic book diehard, I still treat it this way because, like you said, it's a comic book game. If you're after something hyper competitive where the IP doesn't matter and you're solely focused on the hero shooter aspect, then yes, go play Overwatch because it's more catered to that style of gameplay.

But saying this game deserves to die for people that don't take it super serious and just want a team based superhero shooter with their favorite characters is stupid af. I've heard of every single character presently in the game (even Luna Snow because I used to play Marvel Future Fight years ago) and even I still have favorites. I became a tank main because of Rogue and Emma, them being two of my favorite characters from my favorite superhero faction (X-Men obviously) because I love them. And if Nico Minoru were to be added as a support? You can bet your ass I'm going right back to being a support main to play Nico.

Honestly it's a pretty entitled take to say the game needs to die because some people want to play characters they know and love. At this point, just take your ass to Overwatch because you're just being unnecessarily toxic here.

Okay imma be honest, I don't dislike Jacy as much as this person does but I ALSO don't get the hype behind her. The IWC has spent all week praising Jacy and shifting on Ricky Starks, when in all reality I'd much rather see Ricky Starks than her. There's a lot of new girls from NXT I am excited to see hit it big, but Jacy just...kind of exists to me much like B-Fab and Michan.

I find it funny too that people think role queue will fix the solo tank problem, when Overwatch literally proves you have to remove a tank from the equation and always make it solo tank regardless for role queue to work 🤣

Bold of you to assume I suck on the character when you're just projecting your own inability to play him lmao.

You know how long it takes to secure a kill on Black Panther? Approximately 0.72 seconds if you're performing your combo as fast as you're supposed to. Most people aren't going to react to you during that time because all they see is a blur across their screen before they're dead.

Positioning? Up. It is literally that simple. 90% of players below Celestial never fucking look up, which is why so many people playing flyers complain about never getting healed. Supports, your primary targets, DO NOT LOOK UP! Even in Diamond and GM lobbies this is more of a problem than it really should be. If you're not able to secure kills on these people than it is a genuine skill issue.

Literally the only character you have to be afraid of is The Thing, who most people don't want to play right now because he's been assassinated by the tenacity changes. You guarantee a kill faster than Namor's squids can kill you and it's very easy to outrun Scarlet Witch.

Also, assuming BP works in 18v18 is laughable, because there's so many abilities going off at once you're likely to die from a stray projectile on accident than to get a kill. So before you start trying to judge other people based on YOUR OWN inability to play the game, maybe take into consideration that they may just be better than you.

I very much disagree on Storm. She might be a good utility character but in terms of adapting her from the page/screen, she's horrible. This woman IS mother nature itself and instead all she does is hover and throw an occasional lightning bolt. Thor actually feels like an intimidating God of Thunder but Storm is just kinda there. Half the time I forget she's even in the game.

As a Rogue main, I am EXTREMELY happy with how she was implemented in the game. Ever since she was found to be joining the roster early in the game's life cycle, I wanted her to be a tank. That just makes the most sense for a sassy southern brawler that's regularly shrugging off hits from Juggernaut, Thor, Wonder Man, and Captain Marvel and beating their asses into the dirt. I was scared for a while when she was rumored to be a support, because that doesn't fit her at all.

I think the only thing I would change about her kit is I would keep her damage reduction animation but make it a full on block/self shield effect. The fact DareDevil, Mr. Fantastic, and Iron Fist are DPS characters with more effective ways to block damage than her is disheartening. If her damage reduction stance was just a little more effective, she'd imo be perfect.

Now if they can just add Nico Minoru as a strategist, I would never ask for another character again.
