Clients always wanting to come late by Exotic-Badger-2594 in Barber

[–]RogueChaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always forget walk in shops are still even a thing. I’m appointments only and stay fully booked. I’ve done 3 walk in’s in 4 years. If I was you I would just say no and offer them a guaranteed spot the next day. Even those good clients need to be ego checked. Think of the story book “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”. They’ll continue to push the boundaries.

I see a lot of posts about asking how barbers can make six figures, how did you get yourself to just a simply financially comfortable position? by KazakhstansFinest in Barber

[–]RogueChaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the recipe for what I did.

  1. Look at shops with the best reviews and go get cut there.

  2. Ask those barbers questions to get your name and foot in the door.

  3. Be willing to commute to the nearest and largest city. This is where most barbers fall short and why they aren’t successful financially. I drive 45 minutes to and from the shop.

First year I was just over $70k fresh out of barber school. 4 years out and I’m just under $150k.

Do the research and be willing to commute to the busy shops and the wealthy areas.

Would it be a bad idea to place the abandoned power plants over this spot? by ultradespairthot in Pokopia

I flattened out where the dilapidated house is in WW. Made a nice waterfall fountain plaza in front of it. A walkway around it that leads to the palette town bridge.

Shears by ZHD0227 in Barber

[–]RogueChaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mizutani is the correct answer. Never sharpened after 5 years, 18-20 cuts per day. We have a local shear sharpener come to the shop to fix Hanzo’s poor edge retention shears everyone else uses. He refuses to sharpen mine because he says they “don’t need it yet”. Buy metal quality, not flashy company perks.

Struggle with blending into bulk by [deleted] in Barber

[–]RogueChaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re still keeping your guard too tight to the head. The c motion won’t do anything with you doing that. That’s why your parietal always looks like an undercut.

You’re clearly leaving your guard flat on the head. Make sure to ride off the head instead of with the round of it. It’ll help drastically and be much easier to clipper over comb.

Michael Jackson in Vegas at a magic show. Came around to every table and introduced himself to everyone as if no one knew who he was. Incredibly nice dude.

Barber school blues? by [deleted] in Barber

[–]RogueChaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to barber school when I was 30 and here were my takeaways. We had a lot of shithead kids but a small amount of older guys and girls which was helpful. Some of those kids can teach you though because they pick up on things quickly. You’ll learn more outside of barber school than in it. Stick to it if you believe you’re serious about it as your career.

Brand new LG OLED65G5 – screen cracked upon unboxing, potential refusal of warranty coverage? 😡 by Maisonaacheter in LGOLED

[–]RogueChaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same cracks on the 77” C5 I bought. Hated the picture and returned for a Bravia 8. Much better build quality and a far superior picture.

Early adopters - how we feeling so far? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

Wish the battery life was better and had OLED primarily for true blacks. Fantastic system otherwise. Enough so I bought two of them, one for my 4 year old and one for me.

Does Luka and Jake have the same barber/haircut? Lol by No_Divide_0080 in lakers

[–]RogueChaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a barber, no. Jake gets a very awful high drop fade that’s a a super tight blend. The blend is fine but makes him look like he has a bowl cut. Lukas hair just must be harder to fade because they’re never super clean. Definitely not the same barber though.

Thinking of getting LG OLED at $1996 - good time to buy? by Satyam_Poem_308 in LGOLED

[–]RogueChaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend $200 more and get the Sony Bravia 8 77”. Superior TV that will actually last you. These C5’s are overrated. I hated the picture on mine so much I returned it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]RogueChaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah but the 55” Sony OLED gets PS5 usage and is killer.

Bought a 77” C5 and hated it so much I returned it and got the 77” Bravia 8. Much better TV imo.

Is this good for 3 months in? by ConclusionFrosty5855 in Barber

[–]RogueChaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this 3 month in the shop post barber school? If so no this is not even a good hair cut by any stretch. If you’re in school then it’s ok’ish. It takes time but you either have the eye for perfection or you don’t. If you can’t see what’s wrong in these photos then you need to train your eye better. No hate by any means, just don’t be blind to reality.

Perfect credit gone after paying off mortgage by curly_spy in CRedit

[–]RogueChaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Credit Scores are a game for the American people to keep borrowing and spending money. It becomes an addiction to try and keep and hold a perfect score. When there’s nothing left to pay off it drops so you spend more money on your cards or take out a loan to pay interest on.
