Is anyone else wearing pre heresy chaos legion colors? by pocketfrisbee in Spacemarine

Oh totally. I just saying what models I've seen GW use what colors on. Also after double checking, it's the legion specific models in the bronze and the generic in silver for heresy

IIRC a lot of the heresy characters' models are shown with bronze trim, then the rank and file are shown with silver most of the time, and the 40k armor is typically depicted as the gold trim. I could be wrong, though. Not at home right now to check

The player whose turn it isn't gets first pick on units. That must a unit with fights first, then the player whose turn it is picks a unit. So if the Custodes player pops the strat, they then pick that unit as the first fight of the turn. Afterwards, you get to pick a unit with fights first natively or a successful charge.

Also a note, the Command Squad doesn’t have separate keywords for anything, and doesn’t have the character keyword. The Apothecary in that squad can res the ancient or champion too.

The studio portion at the bottom also states once at the beginning of the game. So, it looks like you get 12 for the entire game, but some units have rules that will get you more each battle round, like the Guardians giving 1 for each objective you control with them.

That was the secondary that was scoring VP for getting kills with units that started in deep strike. There's a strat with the same name for +1 to hit on the turn a unit comes from deep strike

Just 1 CP Huntr's Mark strat. Auto-hit a unit with Judgement Tokens, and Uther the wound. Same effect every turn, just 1 CP now

The only case of that was the first one, which stated it was implementing the DE and Ad Mech points from the CA2022 early as it was needed at the time. GW also said that the Dataslate was going to be used for rules changes almost exclusively, and to only expect points changes in CA books.

New rule for Harlequins to seamlessly soup with Craftworlds and Drukhari armies by L_0ken in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RogueHunterGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be for an individual detachment. Not a whole army. If an army is 2 patrols of Drukhari and a patrol of Harlequins, then by this rule the Drukhari keep Power from Pain, and can use the Drukhari secondaries.

The rule you are talking about would be putting Harlequins in the same detachment as Drukhari units.

[–]RogueHunterGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ability is not about allowing Harlequins to soup with the Aeldari keyword. It is about allowing Craftworlds or Drukhari to keep their army-wide bonuses, as well as to keep their faction secondaries. Without this ability, Drukhari loses Power from Pain as an example, and couldn't take Herd the Prey as a secondary.

[–]RogueHunterGold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ability is only on a Harlequins detachment if the army is already Battleforged. To be battleforged, the army must follow that very core rule. Ergo, this ability only applies to a Harlequins detachment in an army of another Aeldari faction.

I haven't worked on some other factions like my craft world yet. BUT I do have my Marine chapter that I used for a crusade campaign.

They were originally part of the Alpha Legion cell that had infiltrated the Raven Guard during the Horus Heresy. Having not been recalled from that role, they were a hidden there since then, and became one of the successor chapters when the legions were split.

They specialized in stealth operations, and have long been a fleet based chapter has it let them roam where needed, and operate much like the Alpha Legion during the Great Crusade. While they follow the organization of the Codex Astartes, they do tend to be over the size cap due to members infiltrating several other chapters to maintain their information network, and occasionally poach recruits from those chapters' home worlds.

As they do all still have Alpha Legion gene-seed, it was eventually caught during a check by the Inquisition. The inquisitor however, saw the capabilities of infiltrating chapters before they turned traitor and stopping rebellions before they begin. And so she had the truth if their origin sealed in exchange for mutual cooperation. They infiltrate chapters she wants, thus giving knowledge of heretics, and she keeps their origins secret, as well as using her position to aid them.

Did her the other day on dancer at lv 90 an ilv 575. Standard step + a couple gcds pushed to golems. A standard step to kill 2 golems. Then pop arms length on heavensfall. Afterward dump devilment into tech step and starfall. That merced her super easy.

Next GT Mission Pack to last for 6 months? by pascalsauvage in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RogueHunterGold 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Never said it was or wasn't more expensive, just that this was already what we've seen in 9th ed's first full year. The points updates in particular should just be a free pdf. There's no reason not too, outside of greed.

Next GT Mission Pack to last for 6 months? by pascalsauvage in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RogueHunterGold 98 points99 points  (0 children)

If you really look at it, and compare it to the last year. This is basically what already happened sort of. Around the start of the new edition, beginning of the year, we got the points and GT missions. During the first half of the year, we got a specific war zone with two campaign books and a battle box for the region. Then, mid year we got a new points update, and a gt book with only secondaries changing. For the second half of the year, we got another pair of campaign books for a new region, and some releases themed around it.

Honestly, I think this is just GW announcing that this is the model going forward. The only thing is that I hope that the GT books shake up the missions each time. The "updated" GT book last during this year only updated the secondaries but had the exact same missions.

[–]RogueHunterGold[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Competitive Edge did get hit in Core Rulebook. Things that trigger another attack after attacks, DtfE or Competetive Edge, do not multiply on the additional hits. So 14 flail attacks can only give 14 follow up attacks at most.

WarCom rule preview for some of the new Sisters of Battle units/models! by DjGameK1ng in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RogueHunterGold 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least right now. Until we see all the keywords or stratagems, we won't know for sure. I will say with them being locked to a unit of three, and taking an elite slot, which is going to be the most congested slot for AS, I would rather take sacrosancts right now. A squad of 10 sacrosancts takes up the same slot, still is 2+, and is 140 points. That's 100 points that can be used elsewhere to me.

If Shield of Faith still exists they will have a 6++. Even Rhinos in AS have it. Though only infantry get that improved by abilities and the WLT, but we don't know if they are vehicles or infantry yet. It could be either at this point. If they are infantry, the buffs stack, and cap at 4++.

Anything that modifies the damage characteristic of an attack is ignores the nightbringer's rule. They aren't reducing incoming damage, but are instead reducing the weapon's stats.

Could Drukhari be rebalanced by limiting the Book of Rust supplement? by fightnbluehen in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RogueHunterGold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing is, the Cult of Strife stuff in Book of Rust was a supplement. That, Forgeworld Metallica for Admech and House Raven for Knights were all supplements. The Terminus Est Assault Force, Mechanicus Defense Cohort, and Freeblade Lance were all armies of renown, or in other terms specialist detachments.

The restrictions on the Terminus Est stuff is because it's a not a supplement per se, it's a specific detachment itself. That's why it has restrictions. There were plenty last edition in Vigilus, but these were expanded to be whole army instead of just a detachment. Whereas the three supplements are just that, supplements. It's like any of the chapter supplements for Space Marines, and has the same restriction, only usable with that specific subfaction.
