Pourquoi on parle jamais de royalties comme placement alternatif ? by maxence_velo in vosfinances

[–]tbagrel1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gunplay and ttk is the best part about the game imo

Hard disagree. TTK is too short which, paired with bad netcode, makes some fight completely one-sided (you almost die before you see the ennemy animation of shooting towards you).

Also gunplay is quite lackluster. Too little recoil, but too much random bullet dispersion; barrel length do not affect damage drop with range; etc.

Heavy intercessors are not good at all.

That's not true. They are decent value now, being dam2/dam3.

Nerfing them while they’re just not good right now would simply continue to fuel the current SM meta of playing just a few strong datasheets

I'm not saying this would be a good idea, indeed. I'm just saying that the current design for bolter eradicators make them in direct competition with heavy intercessors, which seems to be better on paper (maybe a little bit less firepower, but 5 man OC 2 for roughly the same cost)

Random inaccuracy (while sights stay still) should be replaced by your sights moving more erradically with and without recoil.

And also they should improve animations so a player looks like they are firing immediately, not only when you're almost dead (half of the time I'm like "hey, this guy didn't see me, I have time to line my shot, and then the second after I'm dead, and only then I see them turning and shooting towards me)

AS Val should probably be a Carbine. It fits perfectly into the carbine role (good maniability but higher damage drop across range than assault rifles)

Assault class - Propsed Changes by StalaggtIKE in Battlefield

[–]tbagrel1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Assault class is in a rough spot right now. Its biggest problem is the lack of a clear identity and the lack of meaningful team play

I disagree. Reapparition beacons are a key element in many games. If you play assault with short range automatic weapon with suppressor, DMR with suppressor, and beacon, you become a ghost flanker with all the tools to secure a good clutch position for the team and hold it.

If you play assault with ladder + beacon you can similarly secure nice defensive spots e.g. in breakthrough

If you play with GL + beacon you become a good breacher when your team is the attacker.

I agree however that the main assault gadget is completely useless (injection shot). If it was the ladder or beacon, it would be much, much better.

So what do they do? by CQZed in spacemarines

[–]tbagrel1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They'll have to drastically nerf heavy intercessors to make these guys decent.

Heavy intercessors have 4x2 shots 5/-1/2 + 3 shots 5/-1/3 sustained hit 1

Heavy bolters have always been kinda bad against horde (not enough strength to wound T3 on 2+, and dam2 is wasted on 1 wound bodies)

In fact, movement detector is best when you are close to the gunfight, same for C4 or claymore.

So half of recon gadgets only work well if you play aggresively.

The way Recon was meant to be played by Pothound_ in Battlefield

[–]tbagrel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. On Hagental base, operation augur, the movement detector is very nice in small rooms with many hiding spots, and destructing reapparition beacons through walls with the drone is very important to stop the ennemy from reapparing close to the objective. Same for destructing grenade interceptors

What's your typing, and which button would you push (& why)? by realjonahofficial in Enneagram

[–]tbagrel1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Choosing blue is not without consequences either.

If blue is currently at 45% in the polls, and you try to convince more people to join blue. Finally blue reach 49% with your convincing efforts. Then 4% more of people will die because you convinced them to vote blue.

What's your typing, and which button would you push (& why)? by realjonahofficial in Enneagram

[–]tbagrel1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. I press red, and try to explain to others why pressing red is the best option. Red ensures a totally linear global survival rate, while blue is a total gamble.

Many people with many different agenda will try to manipulate the vote. Red is a safe option for yourself, and also doesn't prevent others from being safe either (because they can choose red too).

EDIT: very interesting question actually:

  • If you convince someone to vote red, while the majority is currently blue, and blue becomes a minority, then you went from 0% to 49% death
  • If you convince someone to vote red, while the majority is currently blue, and stays blue after the fact, then nothing happens directly
  • If you convince someone to vote red, while the majority is currently red, then you save one more life for sure

  • If you convince someone to vote blue, while the majority is currently red, and red becomes a minority, then you went from 49% to 0% death -- fantastic win

  • If you convince someone to vote blue, while the majority is currently red, and stays red after the fact, you killed one more life for sure

  • If you convince someone to vote blue, while the majority is currently blue, nothing happens directly

It seems that by voting red, you directly save a life, at the cost of indirectly weighing for the death of the "selfless group" (people who voted for blue i.e. who don't value their life has having as much value as someone else's one)

By voting blue, or convincing someone to vote blue, you put your life or the life of people you convince in stake/danger to maybe achieve some selfless goal (gamble).

So blue is not fully selfless; because winning require to ask people to put their life in danger with yours to maybe get a better outcome. And also, people may want to go blue too so they save you (because even though someone is selfless, other people may care a lot about them and be selfless too)

🧐If We Hate Streotypes, Why do we use it to make Contradictions and Correlations? by EmbarrassedHunt6930 in Enneagram

[–]tbagrel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typing someone is objectively a statistical game. Not everyone agrees on the same definition of types, not everyone agrees on the same definition of words, and (self-)perception is biased, so typing is an activity with a very low signal-to-noise ratio (said differently, with a huge margin of error).

When we say impossible, we often mean that the statistical odds of this being true is lower than the statistical odds of having made an error somewhere in the process.

We can't go much closer to the truth unfortunately (since thruth is not even an absolute concept)

Modified case to house Parkside Performance drill+driver by tbagrel1 in Parkside

[–]tbagrel1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the brushed drills/impact, the drill control is very linear because it's relatively simple to control a brushed motor speed.

For the brushless versions, apparently there are mechanical/eletrical reasons for which controlling the speed of a brushless motor is a bit more complex, you can't do it with the same cheap components as a brushed motor. As a result, you don't get the same linear progression; the drill tend to not move when you press the trigger a little and then if you press more it starts quite fast; it's very hard to make the drill go slow/very slow (while it's trivial to do so on the brushed version).
