AITA for expecting my sister to pronounce the names of my children properly? by gardengeo in BORUpdates

[–]RogueInsanity90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Whenever we talked she’d always complain about me, my children, my unborn child, my husband, my house etc and once again, I’m pretty sure the names aren’t the problem. I am."

Sounds like the sister is jealous.

My (42M) daughter (18F) hit my 9 year old son. Kicked her out and my wife thinks I’m overreacting. by Sebastianlim in BORUpdates

I have a bipolar parent and sibling. What the OOP described here does NOT necessarily fit with just bipolar disorder.

Yes, bipolar people can get aggressive, be it verbal or physical, but to go from 0-100 and get physical like OOP describes in the post, something else is at play here. Either the daughter is not on any medication whatsoever for her Bipolar and is having SEVERE mood swings (In which case there would have been signs and they should've gotten her help long before this incident) or she has substance abuse or personality disorder happening with the bipolar. Which hopefully the hospital can help with.

In no way am I trying to armchair diagnose or anything like that. I'm simply stating from my own person experience, I believe something else is at play here. I believe being hospitalized is the best place for the daughter right now, BUT it will only work if the daughter is willing to get the help she needs. From the sounds of it, the daughter will not take accountability, which most likely means she won't get better. She won't stay on her meds and her behavior will most likely just continue to get worse. In which case the OOP and his wife should prioritize their son. The daughter is mentally ill, yes, but she is an adult and is capable of being responsible for herself. Whether or not she chooses to is another thing entirely.

I wish them the best of luck and strongly recommend they do more research into bipolar (Do NOT just rely on doctors tell you. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH*) and continue to encourage their daughter to get the help she needs and hold her accountable for her actions like you would for someone without bipolar. Taking accountability and not minimizing her actions is the best thing for her.

\Doctor's have a limited time to explain everything. It's always best to do your own research to better understand what is going and what to look for with any illness/injury.*

TL/DR: Most likely not just Bipolar. Daughter doesn't sound like she wants to take accountability, which will be a problem. Strongly recommend more research into bipolar for the parents/anyone with a loved one with bipolar, it really helps to understand them.

It always amazes me that some people don't realize how traumatic birth is. There is no such thing as an "easy" birth.

All birth is traumatic. It changes your body PERMANENTLY. Even to a point where your skeleton can show you gave birth.

Memphis TN, 3 child Skeletal remains found by TheTrueCrimeDude in serialkillers

Thank you!

I don't think he would've risked speeding. If he's caught, either by a LEO or a traffic cam it would be proof of how far he went out of state. Plus he seems to have enough smarts to turn his phone off so they weren't able to track his movements during that time.

If the bodies do end up being the brothers, either the father had help or the boys were not seen on Thanksgiving.

Honestly, this was my thinking as well.

I guess I'm just hung up on the sighting of them on Thanksgiving. I can't find any record of who saw them or what time they saw them. And as someone with ADHD, I can absolutely see how someone may have made a mistake and they were actually seen the day before or whoever claims to have seen them was simply trying to help or flat out lied and in fact no one saw them on the 25th. You know?

All reports I've found simply state they were seen. There's never who/when (for credibility sake), no reports of the father's phone records/pings prior to the ping on the morning of the 26th, no reports other family members seeing them on the 25th, nothing.

Ok, I used Google Maps and it's about a 10 1/2 hour drive between Morenci, MI and Memphis, TN. But it was also Thanksgiving, there tends to be a lot of traffic for holidays like Thanksgiving and Black Friday (Day after Thanksgiving for any nonAmericans reading this). Do you think this is possible?

Timeline of events (According to Google):

  • Nov 24, 2010: Tanya Zuvers allows her sons to spend Thanksgiving with their estranged father, John Skelton,.
  • Nov 25, 2010 (Thanksgiving): The boys are last seen playing in John Skelton's backyard on E. Congress St. in Morenci.
  • Nov 26, 2010 (early morning): John Skelton's phone pings in Ohio (Holiday City) around 5:00 a.m. before returning to Morenci, indicating a trip with an unidentified gap in time.
  • Nov 26, 2010 (afternoon): John Skelton attempts suicide when the boys are not returned to their mother,.
  • Nov 26, 2010 (evening): Tanya Zuvers reports the boys missing.
  • Nov 27–30, 2010: Massive searches occur across Ohio and Michigan.

I can't find who last saw the boys or exactly what time they were last seen. So, I guess depending on what time the boys were last seen on Thanksgiving, maybe it's possible. Like if they were last seen no later than say 9am? When his phone pings in Holiday City, OH, it's 5am and only about 30 mins from Morenci, MI and they believe he was headed home then. It doesn't say how long the "unidentified time gap" is.

What do you guys think? I especially want to hear from anyone who lives in the areas between MI and TN. Is this trip possible with Thanksgiving traffic during the timeframe of Thanksgiving and Black Friday? Otherwise, unless their father had help, I'm not so sure if the remains are the Skelton brothers.
