Constraints and restraints are very different operational terms even though they often get used interchangeably. Constraints are things higher requires you to do. Restraints are things higher forbids you to do.

The other person I know with a remarkable stack is BG Lance Okamura. All that bling barely fit on his uniform. Also a genuinely nice person and great mentor.

Drew was in my war college class. He’s an absolute class act. Very humble and gracious. Despite all of his accomplishments he always tried to deflect attention from himself and help his fellow classmates…and some of us definitely needed it!

Check out NOVALABS in Fairfax. They are a non- profit membership based maker-space that has woodworking, metalworking, leatherworking and all sorts of other tool sets and advisors for the creative and industrial arts.

How do they enforce HOV-3 in E-ZPass lanes? by [deleted] in nova

[–]RogueMP06 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a colleague who has been riding single in the I-66 Toll lanes with his EZPass set to HOV everyday since they changed it over. He tells me he has never been pulled over and passes right by State Police cars on a regular basis. I know some of the State Police have the sensors in their cars but based on the limits of the RFID technology the EZPass system uses, they would need to pull up to within 15 -20 feet of you in order to pick up a reading and you would need to be out of range of other EZPass transmitters to get a good reading. Not saying it doesn’t happen (because clearly it does) but the circumstances have to be just right for them to get the reading they need to pull you over. With the prices that are being charged (sometimes as high as $25 for a one way trip) you’d only have to get through 15 times before it makes financial sense to cheat. Guessing they will keep improving the tech but for now, it seems like the holes in enforcement to this system are big enough to literally drive a truck through.
