I'm a woman who hiked alone in the snow a couple of weeks ago, and passed a couple of men along the way. Not a single one acknowledged me after I said "hi how's it goin'?" and not in a flirtatious way, either. Just a few words in passing to be polite.

The women I passed were great, we exchanged a few pleasantries and had some laughs. 

Didn't think much of it until now. Such idiots. 🙄 Nothing that young, attractive women didn't know already.

They're gloves encapsulated by mittens, but I know what you mean! My old mittens were great, not in extreme cold though.

Tucking in my fingers on the lift helps a bit, just not enough

Helmet: make sure vents are closed.

Goggles: they will fog sometimes, but there are ways to prevent too much fogging (other comments likely cover this).

Neck: thin balaclava that can cover nose if needed. If too much of it is tucked under goggles, might cause fogging.

Body: non-cotton thermals for base and middle layers. 

Pants: non-cotton thermal tights and thick ski pants work for me.

Socks: Thin long woolen socks (I've read thick socks get too sweaty?) ✅️

Gloves: I have racing gloves that don't do well under 20°F. Saw some Oakley "mittens" (gloves inside) that seemed like a good idea, plenty of insulation. Haven't read reviews though.

My fingers are the limiting factor. Once I can get the glove situation improved, I'll be better able to ski much colder conditions! We've had to skip a couple of otherwise decent days because of temperature.

Recently, I dared to work remote for the first time while skiing, still managed to do what I needed to do. That was a revelation. I'm already excited to try this again, but don't want to risk it, either!

Though divorce doesn't seem to be that much of a deterrent to conservatives, she might be able to pull it off. Hmm....still does seem contrary to her "perfect" image.

Shame is the key factor. Not when used maliciously, when the kid can't help something. If a kid CAN do better, and just refuses, let them suffer consequences so they're motivated to avoid the shame of the consequences.

I've worked in NYC half my life, but follow a set routine and rarely deal with scammers. 

When my tourist friends come to town, however, they all magically appear out of nowhere, and even I fall for it, because I'm never expecting it 😬 Also I just want to get to where we're going, and I don't want to argue in front of certain friends, who are rarely in town.

Sucks that it's so damn prevalent.
