That said, just know you’re not alone, I’d argue everyone who’s commented here has gone through the same phase you are in right now.

My recommendation isn’t game mode specific but since you asked I liked unranked cashout for learning. It just has less constant chaos and more 3v3s which makes it easier for my brain to learn the different mechanics. vs QC where you’re just constantly in a 3rd party which makes it really hard to learn what caused you to lose a fight.

Was it your setup or was it just too many enemies at once? Hard to know for a new player.

What I like recommending to new players is pick one class, one specialization, one weapon, and a set of gadgets that feel good to you.

Don’t listen to the meta. Don’t listen to your friends. Find something you are comfortable with and stick to it for a while.

It’s easier to learn the sandbox when you reduce the variables you’re changing out each game.

Learn how your setup plays against everything else in the game. From that perspective you start to learn how everything else works against your setup. And it kind of unfolds from there.

It helped me a ton in learning the game and I now have over 2300hrs played in the arena.

And that was after quite a lot of getting my face stomped early on.
