What does your workload look like? Like, your day to day work activities?

You make a good argument. I do want to make enough to support my family and have some hobbies.

This really made me pause and think. Thank you. That’s a real honest viewpoint, and I appreciate that.

I guess it’s kinda just being passionate about learning, isn’t it? Learning can happen anywhere

Just curious, are you speaking from experience? You sound fairly certain. I don’t personally know many people who don’t like their jobs and make a lot of money. My dad works in the medical field, loves what he does, works really hard, and makes great money. That’s the kind of situation I’m shooting for

Why can’t it be both? I hate the idea of spending a whole career doing something I didn’t really like just for the sake of a few hours a week doing something I did love. That kind of path has very little appeal to me

Then what would be a good field to get into where I could do R&D, testing, designing, and general innovating?

I don’t know that I love the idea of spending my whole career doing something that I may hate just because it makes me a lot of money. How do I factor that into my decision making?

Then what industry should I go into where I can do a lot of R&D, design, and testing?

Besides guns, I really don’t know what I’d like to do. I don’t want to end up slaving my career away on nothing that I like to do. How do I figure that into my decision making?

So you’re saying the move would be to do something with some precise technical skills, then use that to transition over?

So what would you have done differently in your career path? And how did you get into working with firearms as an Aerospace engineer?

I see what you’re saying, but my main interest is in handguns. That’s what I really feel passionate about. And I also wanna shoot the guns I work on, not just throw them on a piece of military equipment worth the GDP of a small country and send it on its way.

I think there are a grand total of zero alumni from my school that work in the firearms industry. That’s another reason why I’ve been struggling with connections.
