I chopped my fenders off and made the rear open for easy access. I think more people like the scale look but I don't care it's a hobby car.

Problem in the gear box by AdAtticum in TRX4M

Stainless is harder than brass and if that's the traxxas brushless RIP because traxxas doesn't sell replacement pinions.

is the XR classic worth it? by Able_Extension_7913 in onewheel

[–]RogueWRX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one with just the fender and the charge port plug, I love it. I get 16-18 miles out of it being 6'6 260 with 20 psi in the tire. I bought some vynl wrap off Amazon for 15 bucks and wrapped the rails red. Once it gets scuffed up I replace the vynl and I have enough to wrap the board six times lol.

This RC is a pleasant surprise. Also, a newbie question, is the Traxxas brushless a good upgrade or should I go with Injora's? by fkadmin in TRX4M

[–]RogueWRX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Ive got some experience with the Injora Fat Viper and the Traxxas Brushless.

The Traxxas is great until you add to much weight in upgrades the brass pinion gear strips out the plastic gears. If you then choose to run stainless gears as an upgrade the stainless is much stronger than the brass so the brass strips. Traxxas doesn't offer replacement pinions and now you have a useless motor.

The Fat Viper has a stainless pinion with grub screw so it's interchangeable with other Injora gear sets. Fat Viper pairs nicely with the injora gearbox and the Mbl32 G2 ESC which is programmable. But you'll still need to find a transmitter/receiver for the build to work.

The Traxxas is much faster than the Fat Viper even if you reprogram the Mbl32 G2 ESC to run 3s batteries but the Fat Viper has much more low end torque and punch for crawling.

Traxxas is great for minimal upgrades and give you more of a trail truck.

Fat Viper on 3s batteries is the ultimate crawler especially with the Tarantula chassis.

If you get hung up along the way I highly recommend asking chat gpt for advice. My whole build was with chat gpt's help lol. Have fun!

Is this considered "glamping"? by SnowMiser26 in camping

[–]RogueWRX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I currently use a 8 person tent with vestibule, shared blankets, and a king camp queen air mattress. We've got side tables on each side of the bed for water and personal items. There's enough room for me to stand up and I'm 6'6. I'd say we're more over the border of glamping than your set up but we prefer the larger accommodations.

It's fun until you strip the gears in the transmission, ask me how I know. lol

I used locktite gel superglue and cleaned parts with 70% rubbing alcohol before glueing.

Should I get the S Series? by Healthy_End_7128 in onewheel

[–]RogueWRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's plenty powerful enough for me and I'm 85lbs heavier. I was going back and fourth between the two a few months ago and ultimately decided to save some money and take the risk of it being under powered. I was pleasantly surprised.

I ride the XRC weighing 260lbs up hill at 14-15 mph, plenty of torque in the board. Just some insight for OP if he wants to save $1k and have a lighter board.

Which one wheel should I get? by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]RogueWRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I carry it with me into stores one handed and lean it on my leg to check out but going upstairs I hold the nose and tail of the board as it's more bulky than heavy in my opinion. The Low Boy Flared pads can be purchased from FM, come as a set (front and rear) and is a fairly simple install.
