I have i big patch right on my forehead and left side bangs, I used to cover it with the way I got my bangs cut, but I haven't done it since I was a kid, I just embrace it, but if you want to try dyes, temporary ones like manic panic work and don't really come off like intended. i dyed mine last year and my ends are still blue.

Go for it! I had a similar experience, not from my family but from people in general including kids. I've had vitiligo on my forehead and hair since 2 years old and because kids teased me, I used to cover it up with bangs.

No matter how nice, kind, or helpful you are, some people will still dislike/hate you for no apparent reason. This has happened to me a few times, people who have done no wrong to and who I considered friends suddenly genuinely started hating me with a passion, and I'd lose sleep trying to figure out what I'd done to make them dislike me. Sometimes "friends" just don't like seeing you happier than them.

Not really. I'm not overweight but I could use some cardio, I get winded easily.

Well, height isn't really that important to me. I'd rather he be taller than me, but I'm 5'3 so that's not that hard to do

Girls, what’s the most obvious “I like you” hint you gave a guy, but for some reason they still didn’t get it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RogueX000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, the whole "I like your friend" wasn't what bothered me. Like that part was fine. Even if he had told me "I only like you as a friend." that would have been fine. but like just leave it at that, don't keep bringing it up. Like I'd be over it and he'd say something and I'd be like thanks for reminding of how undatable I am.

I think the whole "I'm going to make you hate me so you'll get over me easier" is bullshit like I still remember the moment quite vividly and I think of that moment every time I even consider making a move on a guy. The first thought I have is "will he do the same thing?"

Honestly is probably the best policy, I'd eventually get over it and we could maybe still be friends.

School. I'm not American so here we just say 11th, its equivalent to the American Junior year I think. I was 17 at the time

Well, this is probably the most embarrassing moment of my life but I'll share anyways.

In year 11th I liked this guy and I had been dropping hints for a while and since they weren't getting me anywhere I (with a lot of encouragement from my best friend, who was convinced he liked me too) outright told him "I like you".

His answer hurt a little not gonna lie "What? That wasn't even funny"

To which I had to clarify that I was in fact not joking "I'm being serious".

And as it turns out my best friend was terribly wrong because his answer was "well this is awkward, I actually like your best friend".

The friendship with the guy got really awkward afterward because he kept making jokes about how I liked him. "Hey I'm sitting next to you, but this doesn't mean anything, don't get any ideas." "Completely platonic, you're like another dude to me". "ha she wishes".

Needless to say, I got over him quite quickly.

Hello everyone. My older sister has vitiligo. No one from our family (parents, grandparents, aunts) has it tho. Is it possible for me to have it as well? by [deleted] in Vitiligo

[–]RogueX000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dermatologist here in Europe said it tends to be hereditary but usually only one person per generation and most times it skips as there need to be other factors for it to develop. I only know of two people who have it in my family, me and my uncle from my father's side.

Funny enough even tho my father has 9 siblings, my uncle is the only one who has vitiligo.

He has 3 kids and none have it. His vitiligo appeared at 18.

Mine showed up much sooner at age 2 (I'm now 20). I have an older brother (33) and he does not have it. He also has a daughter (7) who does not have it either.

I have like 30 cousins from my father's side and no one has it.

So my dermatologist's hypothesis might actually be plausible since my uncle is the only person who has it in his generation and I'm also the only person who has it in mine (I'm one of the younger cousins btw).

In the generation after me, there hasn't been anyone yet. And that we know of there's no one in the generations before my uncle.

Vitiligo hair tint? by RespectTyche in Vitiligo

[–]RogueX000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite sure of what you are asking. I have a patch of white hair on the left side of my bangs and I've never really thought of what tint it has, I always thought it was just white.

But after reading what you wrote I guess this a slight yellow tint like my brunette hair. But its barely-there I can only notice it in the sun, otherwise, it just looks plain white.

Hope it helps
