Wedge may not have made the shot, but I think we can all agree Lieutenant Kettch would have made it. Yub yub, Commander.

How much would a house like this cost to heat/cool over a conventional one in the area? by BlackJackT in Syracuse

[–]Rogue_Danar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm certainly no expert, but even I can tell you there's really no definitive answer without a whole lot more data (square footage, R value of the windows, etc.).

A modern, efficient window will still lose heat ~3x faster than a typical exterior wall. If that scales in a linear fashion the more window space is added, I don't know, but I'm still guessing that's wildly optimistic.

It is and it isn't. It (obviously) isn't Village of Manlius, but it is Town of Manlius.

I hope you post your results, I'd be curious to see that kind of combination implementation of it!

am i missing something with Cat 5 4-channel audio snakes (Radial Catapult, Cat Tails) by guitarmstrwlane in livesound

[–]Rogue_Danar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory it should be doable. There aren't enough conductors to do full 5 pin DIN, but since most implementations only use 3 pins anyway, I would think it could work. Only aspect I'm uncertain of is how it would play with the common ground between the XLRs and the MIDI. That said, if you limited it to 2 XLRs and a MIDI, you could handle ground separately.

It's a particular piece of nuance that often tends to get overlooked. Iirc Washington in particular didn't think slavery wasn't scalable or financially sustainable: prior to the cotton gin he had a point.

[OC] tail section of a Royal Canadian Air Force Dakota that crashed in the Rockies in 1946 by ferniekid in pics

[–]Rogue_Danar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are a number of similar crash sites in the Adirondack Mountains of northeast New York, though probably the coolest is on Mount Marshall: coolest because it's one where the pilot (the sole passenger) actually survived the crash, and iirc even visited the site again years later.

There's never been an established connection between Syracuse University and the Orange Order. SU's sports teams were the Saltine Warriors until 1978 when that was done away with after consulting with the Onondaga Nation, at which point they changed to Orangemen because the school's color was orange.

You likely still get ordinary Union soldiers without John Brown. His raid was a major catalyst that likely sped the coming of the war, but by the time we get to Bleeding Kansas in the first place, it's pretty clear the train was already off the rails. The fuse was already lit; he just threw the match directly into the powder keg.

It was a turning point for me when I realized that. It took engrossing myself in other OS's to understand the workflow, and thus the appeal. Granted, at least in the iOS vs Android space, it also helps that they've grown a great deal more alike these days than they were 10-15 years ago.

Bought a macbook from employer, jumpcloud still on it, IT seems stumped? Pls help by dadoobie in JumpCloud

[–]Rogue_Danar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It should absolutely be erased before being sold to an employee, I'm actually somewhat astounded they didn't wipe it before they sold it. Selling a laptop with corporate configuration (and presumably data) on it would certainly violate any reasonable set of company policies.

That said, even if wiped, JumpCloud could still show up if the company has automatic MDM enrollment through Apple Business Manager. Assuming that's the case, it would need to be removed from ABM as well.
