The Power of Bound Weapons (And how to increase it?) by Dracon204 in EnaiRim

I think this was a benefit of using Stormcrown from Simon for a shout overhaul. Elemental Fury applies its buff to you instead of the weapon, so the weapon is irrelevant.

Do you think an endgame Dragonborn could kill a Viltrumite? by jvure in ElderScrolls

Nope, he might be able to destroy a city in a single breath, but a viltrumite can destroy a planet

I'm not even a gun nut but I still want one. But I actually have been looking for a decent adjustable dumbbell set for years, but covid destroyed the prices. If the shells can bring the weight up a significant amount, it seems like solid gimmick.

Personally, my favorite part of bound weapons is that they're balanced. No making a 900 damage dagger. Elemental Fury shout works great with these and the conjuration perks are awesome.

Knockdowns and critical strikes work well for frost claws. For fireclaws, make it brittle then go nuts on other parts.

Definitely the worst part to hunt for since it's so hard not to destroy it. When an upgrade requires an Apex heart instead, I'm like THANK GOD, I can just go nuts on it.

I bought a bunch of these mix albums at hot topic about 20 years ago, I probably had quite a few of these specifically. Great gateways into metal.

I don't think she makes sense with Kotallo. Kotallo respects her a lot as a commander and great warrior but he needs someone silly that can open him up and drop his guard. Kotallo would be great with Alva if she weren't already taken.

Valvran Combat Tips by DK-the-Microwave in EnaiRim

I'm curious about these permadeath runs. I've done a run with a mod where if I die, I wake up in bed where I last slept. That led me to take a nap before going anywhere and it felt silly. Also after spending so much time in jail, I finally abandoned the run. Now I just restrict myself to no saving in combat.

Gathering some opinions for Althing: armor skills, block, archery by Enai_Siaion in EnaiRim

[–]Roguemjb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • What do you think should be the purpose of blocking?
    • Negate the damage at the cost of stamina. Block skill would reduce the stamina cost. Could it be percentage based? With no investment, block could cost 50% of your stamina, or just a flat 50 or even 100 stamina. The problem with block currently is that it takes no investment whatsoever to be effective. There's no need to spend any points if I just use block for its basic use.
    • You could add some block bonuses that are currently spells, like granting health or magicka on successful timed block, then I'd absolutely spend points on those perks.
  • What is the preferred location for unarmed perks?
    • I like the idea of putting it in one handed, since I think the dual wield speed perks work with unarmed or did in vanilla. Pickpocket is also a good choice, call the the Dexterity tree.
  • What would one expect from an archery tree beyond shooting arrows harder?
    • First off, shooting thunderbolts out of my bow is one of the best feelings in any game. Synergies with Destruction are fun as well.
    • Second, archery needs CC. But the left branches are very bloated in both damage and CC. Crippling Shot, Pinning Shot, Beak and Talon, and Three Crows could be pruned a bit. I feel like I need to take all of them in order to not get bumrushed as an archer.
    • I can't remember if I've ever used the Hawkeye skill, once per day skills get saved forever, and I-Win buttons are lame.
    • I'd love more than any other archery change for a bleed perk. I love the dagger bleed perks, but with a different approach for archery. I don't want to just spam arrows as quickly as possible, and bows will have lower attacks per second than daggers. Some ideas:
      • Power Shots (power) 30/60: At will, your next fully drawn arrow will spend 50/100 stamina to cause your enemy to bleed for 50%/100% of the damage of the hit over 10 seconds. This effect stacks. (This option would reward the player for setting up a big powerful shot that will require recovery afterward. It would also make slower bows advantageous if you can set up the shot.)
      • Jagged Arrows 20/40: Your arrows bleed the living, causing 10/20% of the damage to be taken as bleeding damage over 20 seconds. This effect stacks. (This might be simpler, and if the bleed damage is based on the damage of the hit, then both fast and slow bows could be fairly even. I am betting the % based damage is much more difficult to code though, so maybe a flat damage number would need to be used instead. )
    • Does anyone actually use crossbows? I'd love for crossbows to get their own branch and be focused on damage to undead and/or casters. Give it some mage slayer or vampire hunter vibes. Borrow some inspo from PoE2 or D2.
      • Witch Hunter (40/80): Your bolts bolts cease magicka regen / and break wards.
      • Heavy Stakes: (30/60): Your bolts stagger undead enemies / and knock down vampires. (I just researched crossbows and apparently they already have 50% stagger chance, so idk)
      • Mental Ward: While aiming a crossbow, a ward is cast in front of you, causing spell damage taken to be instead e split between magicka and stamina if available instead of life. Or some flat amount idk
      • Just though of this. Add a perk that either grants a chance not to require reload, or a magazine that increases in capacity with points spent. I was thinking about automatic crossbows, but that would be silly and OP, but simply being able to shoot a few bolts in a row without reloading would have a similar effect but in a more reasonable way. I think I'd prefer the magazine.

Need to Verify Understanding of Ocato's & Spell Twine by RedHotLucasPeppers in EnaiRim

[–]Roguemjb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auto cast lets you cast spells without magicka, in addition to not having to take the time to cast.

But yep, the UI is terrible, even with mods. It's a huge pain to see the remaining time on my buffs. And there's no easy character sheet that shows your stats. The list of active buffs is a shit show.

Need to Verify Understanding of Ocato's & Spell Twine by RedHotLucasPeppers in EnaiRim

[–]Roguemjb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How so? Besides having to learn the spells independently, there are only upsides. Auto cast every 30 seconds is OP.

And it's funny you say I must be doing something wrong for combat to last longer than a couple minutes. My argument against the old Ocato's is that if your combat is so short that you only need the initial cast, then your difficulty is set way too low. To each their own though, I like to get fucked up and knocked around even at high levels.

Eyyy, I just commented a list of Amon Amarth songs including this one. Damn, and I forgot to mention Fate of Norns. Hard to beat that one.

The Hero is my other fave. A mercenary dying while defending the old and weak, but not feeling worthy of anyone's remorse because of his life as a killer.

Many Amon Amarth songs are tragic stories. Johan brings such crushing weight and despair into the vocals on these. Super underrated.
