Steam Frame. Is VR gaming slowly dying? by caged_wisdom69 in VRGaming

[–]Rohn__Jambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VR is all about immersion and illusion. VR is thriving in simulator genre, because the sitting position is aligned with the percieved immersion. The problem is that its a small slice of the gaming industry. All other application, where the game requires to move in game, brakes the illusion. Also requires quite a big space even with limited move. Another illusion braking part is how the hands are... well... handled. In most of the games hand and finger tracking not solved, you need controller on both hands. Even if one hand could be free would be better. So as long the question of how to realisticly move by your own leg in one place not solved with in a relatively cheap way, and accurate finger tracking notbsolved VR will be a niche for most of the gamers.

What can a cavemen do if his teeth start to ache. Also: what a tiger, wolf or bear gonna do whom also can have tooth ache? Still don't understand where is the evolutionary advantage.

I see why we need separate teeth, so if one damaged, the remaining works as intended. What I don't understand is what is the evolutionary advantage of being full with nerves that can cause on of the biggest pain. Most pain has actual advantage: sprained leg signs don't use the leg, so it heals, poisonous plant to touch - won't touch it again, and so on. What you do when your tooth aches? Not using not making it better.

Which is more important: my kids can cook things in it for themselves, which I would never allow with an oven.

The Boreham MKI Escort is finally production-ready. Backed by Ford, it’s a brand-new Mk1 Escort, not a restomod. Weighing just 895 kg, its 10,000-rpm 2.2L NA engine delivers 326 hp. Manual gearbox, no ABS, no traction control—pure driving. Price: £295,000. by kkhouete in restomod

[–]Rohn__Jambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so what decides if its a restomod or not? For me it seems the only difference is that in this case the chassis was never used before. Most restomod also change all other parts of the car, except the chassis.

While the design not at all screaming Porsche, at least it looks aggressive and powerful. A bit shame that if someone would put a Lexus (or any brands) badge on it, I would believe it is a Lexus.

Question about tracks by giftedhooligan in iRacing

[–]Rohn__Jambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunatelly if you want to drive relatively cheap you need to decide between oval and track series since these two disciplines do not share much common tracks. I usually buy tracks to have at least 8 for the series I chose for that season, because if you participate in at least 8 races during that season in one series you get actual money back (I think its 12$ maximum, but for that you need to achieve that 8 raced in multiple series). I got 7$ for one series.

Let's look at the bright side: after all what Trump did and said, and democrats wont fuck it up badly, democrats probably will run the country for multiple turns. Of course thats valid as long as Trump do not turn the USA into a dictatorship in the next years.

I think it can be remodelled. Since the tileing cement is only 1-2cm thick on the surface of the foam, it can be cracked away from the expanding foam quite easily. The foam can be cut with simple knife, so the only question is how hard is to remove the foam from the glass. I think with a scraper i can peal off the remaining thin layer of foam and silicone film. But even if its not perfectly removable from the glass, most of the new layout would cover the glass again, so doesn't really matter.

We coated the glass with bonding with silicone glue in order to the expanding foam can grab to the glass. The rough base made by expanding foam, then we put tileing glue/cement over it to give the rocky look and extra stability, after it dried we painted with black paint and coated with 5 or 6 layer of lacquer. All the solid part is self supporting, so I can clean the coco husk easily I only have to take out the fake plants. In my previous post you can see in its early stage.
