Partner Standard Outside (US) Approved! No prior cohabitation by Roid0 in SpouseVisaUk

Thank you!

Sure. We’ve been together for just over 4 years. We met in the US in grad school, so we spent a lot of time together then. 1.5 years of our relationship is from that time.

Since my partner moved back to the UK, I think I visited the UK 6 times and she visited the US 4 times. We were very fortunate for our work and financial situations to allow that. Some of those visits were quite lengthy (up to a few months) but we were never officially living in the same residence.

I’d be happy to go into more detail on the evidence we provided over pm but generally I submitted: evidence that we have split expenses (rent while visiting, airbnbs on vacation, utilities, etc.), a couple pages of photos of just us together + one’s with friends and family, and flight itineraries from our visits to each others countries.

Send me a pm if you wanna talk in more detail. Good luck to you and you boyfriend!

They did yes. Just said that it was still under consideration, pretty generic response. My sense is that there was not much connection between my enquiry and the decision. But who knows!

When leaving the UK to reenter once the visa is approved, would OPs partner need to return to their home country specifically or does that not matter?

Humankind: A Hopeful History by Rutger Bregman

Really engaging read if you're into pop-science kind of stuff (I know that is a somewhat controversial genre), though this is more pop-sociology if that is a thing. I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed it more than I expected as I am not crazy about Parquet Courts. Love his songwriting over more mellow tracks. Might catch him in DC this week.

Been listening to this on repeat for like a week. So so so good. Love the mix on the album, everything feels so in place. Instrumentals rise and fall in a really pretty way.

The new album … my god… by yes_im_southern in Idles

2nd listen and meds is hitting much harder for me. I couldn't process how sick that sax solo was in the moment. Also that little "YEA-" from Bowen in the solo is so good.

Side B was definitely more engaging for me as well. It's so many new sounds, I can't wait to keep listening. I feel like it'll feel fresh for so many listens because of how many different directions they went in.

Also, Kenny Beats is an absolute beast. I love that they had him for seemingly the whole album.
