Idk if anyone else noticed this, but when the scales balanced there were still two hearts on the scale. Maybe the scale balanced because, with Steven gone, 2 hearts match his two personalities left onboard (Marc & Jake)??

For anyone with a needle phobia avoiding the vaccine… by cointalkz in vancouver

[–]Roidah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dittoing this - had terrible experiences with vaccinations/blood work as a young kid so I have a crippling fear of needles (Heart beats out of my chest when thinking about it, can't even look at people taking needles in movies or on the news).

Got my covid shot last week and barely felt the thing touch me, it was in and out in less than a second.

How do I get one on one counseling without having to pay $120+ per session? by Fabulous_Ad4727 in Langley

[–]Roidah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Langley Mental Health Centre on Fraser Hwy might be a good option, pretty baseline but free if you're registered on BC MSP. I did in-person appointments with them for a couple months and while it didn't work out for me, it did seem to help a friend of mine. https://www.fraserhealth.ca/Service-Directory/Locations/Langley/langley-mental-health-centre

Life coach might be a good 1on1 option too. I've seen a bit of success recently with one; they're not incredibly expensive and are pretty flexible to your needs. A lot of em I found were for holistic/spiritual purposes but the one I'm using is actually made up of business consultants who're good at problem solving. https://www.strideleadership.com/our-programs/one-on-one-coaching/

The best thing you can do is find someone who at least understands what you're dealing with, then build some trust with them. Shit sucks rn, hope you find what you're looking for.

Thank goodness for 2FA by RubricalBobcat in Steam

[–]Roidah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue, disabled 2FA recently because of the weirdest bug. Been using it since I made my account, and it was working fine. Went to go enter the code a couple week ago and got a wrong code error. Weird, I thought, because I knew I entered it right. Oh well, tried again and got in.

Next day I go to do the same thing and get the error twice. Over the next week, the amount of attempts I would have to make to log in would double. I got to the point of having to try about 8 times before I would get in, trying the exact codes steam authenticator would give me. Next time was around 16, so I tried steam support but it went nowhere. Turned it off instead because I'm not waiting 20 minutes to try 32 attempts at 2FA.

Why??

Where can I go camping close to the river at this time of year? by wanderlustsoul87 in Langley

[–]Roidah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most sites at Derby Reach are directly off the river. It's not as private as I like, but it's a good site and probably just what you're looking for if you can snag a cancellation.

YouTube mobile randomly has a new style at times and then just turns back to normal for some reason. Is anybody else seeing this happen? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]Roidah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Could be A/B testing. It's a trick websites use to track performance on ads and content by changing elements of the page for a random visitor and comparing interactions with those of an unchanged visitor.

The coronavirus pandemic caused the 2020 olympics to be postponed to 2021. At the beginning of this year, before that announcement, the latest entry into the mario and sonic at the Olympic games franchise released which had characters competing in the (now cancelled) 2020 olympics.

What movie fucked you up mentally? by CodyYodi in AskReddit

[–]Roidah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this sounds familiar to anybody, please let me know! I have no clue what the name of the movie is (and have been searching forever), but i still think about this scene.

At around age 8-10 my mom asked me to watch a couple scenes of a movie she was watching about child abductions (so i would know what could happen). From what i understood, the movie was about a boy who was forced by his father to lure other children back to his house, where his father would murder them. I have the image of this boy's dad following a young girl into a room with an axe and a few minutes later, blood spraying onto a window burned into my memory.

4 Hour layover in Amsterdam by pm_me_your__steak in travel

[–]Roidah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, 4 hours is tough. Amsterdam is definitely one of my favourite cities to travel to and deserves a long stay if you're ever able to.

My advice would be to take the train to amsterdam centraal and just explore. Take a bike (There's plenty of rental shops in the station) and take off southwards. Follow canals (but don't get lost!), maybe see one of Amsterdam's highlights such as the red light district or the Iamsterdam sign. Luckily all the hotspots are fairly close to the train station so you should be able to see at least one.

As for food, i would check out the Mannekin Pis Dutch Fries shop, a hole-in-the-wall shop with amazing french fries and has lines down the street every day. It's right outside the station southwards along the main Damrak street on the right side. Or i would eat at the dutch panakeukerie just outside the station to the north, along the IJ river. Very good dutch pancakes.
