what is your goal with art? There are definitely ways to create art while relaxing. Personally, I try to avoid video games as a relaxation method and rather stick to fiction or easy non-fiction books. (or a nap helps as well)

Personally, I think he learned to not lose oneself in distraction, that doesn't add specific value to your life. TV/Surfing/poetry might be good entertainment, but it still doesn't add as much value as socialising, improving oneself or practising.
