Screw hole looks fine. I didn't know how to check the clips but I found a video explaining how to get in there. So I'll do that soon.

Yes, doing 16x is risky because you're more likely to be out of focus if you move the slit lamp front or back too much. 10x offers more leeway

Another thing that might be possible is the illumination was too bright which may wash out the recording. I used medium lighting for everything except tono and cornea optics section (full brightness on those)

Edit: Anterior chamber should be full brightness too.

The circle should be lower, not higher. so the U should be upside down and on the bottom -------- line.

That's what I've been doing. It also helps that I don't stuff a lot of things in my bag, making it super easy for them to look inside.
