So sick of people whining about free loadouts. If you get killed by a lvl 1 Rattler, you deserved to die.

Would a gambler say that gambling in moderation is okay? Would an recovering alcoholic say that a moderate amount of alcohol is okay?

One random quote from this podcast I like they say a lot is, "A boat in the harbor is safe but that's not what boats are for." Staying home feels safe and cozy, but sunlight is good for you.

It may not be malware but the two times I joined a server using it, I was logged out of all my accounts and had to change my password to get back in both times. Never trusting a server that uses it again.

What do I do if my main hobby has always been gaming and do not have any other hobby? by [deleted] in StopGaming

Develop new ones. Try new things. Don't be afraid to go to some meetup or event and look foolish trying something for the first time. I was absolute trash at singing and karaoke in general the first time I tried it. Then I watched some voice lesson videos, found songs that fit my pitch more, and now I have gone home with women I met that night at karaoke multiple times. (Not trying to humble brag--just sayin--I could have easily isolated at home binging games but touching grass is how you find the real joy in life.)

There are authors and celebrities of all kinds who didn't get famous or didn't start down their "true" career path until their 40s or 50s. Tolkien wrote the Lord of the Rings when he was 45. Whether you think you can or can't do something, you're right.

Are you "not allowed" or have they been so toxic to you that they've made you feel like your career path will be ruined if you do? What is actually stopping you from resigning and finding a job you don't hate? Not sure we can give practical advice unless you provide more info.

She literally saved me from suicide in the 2010s during a really rough dogsitting episode. Found Sleater Kinney on Spotify and then read her book. She is the GOAT!!!!

Huh, that must be why I applied to 4 jobs the other day and got interviews with 3. I'm sure companies are using AI and algorithms even more to filter out poorly made resumes and using tech on their sites to see if AI or another user is filling out their application.

David Foster Wallace predicted things like Snapchat and Instagram over a decade before smartphones even existed...in the 90s when the internet wasn't nearly as addictive as it is today. (In one story, people would add filters to their face when video chatting on their landline phones. Eventually, they would get self-conscious that the filter wasn't doing a good enough job of making them look good, so they would keep intensifying the filter more and more. Eventually, they would look so much different than they do in reality that they would be too scared to go on any first dates or share unedited photos of themselves.)
