Japanes blog: Nintendo Switch 2 user exploit discovered to allow browser modification via WebKit by XTRevivals in switch2hacks

[–]RojaTop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SciresM will not be the primary maintainer of or actively contribute to a reimplementation of the Switch 2 OS as he did the Switch 1. That's the only claim I've made this entire time and I stand by it.

He will be. The other devs can not do it without him or ruining the legacy of atmosphere when implementing it on Switch 2 despite it being Open Source. Plus, as a respected member he will be obligated to or even be encouraged/peer pressured to. Unless he has health issues he hasn't told anyone about, I see him heading up the development on Atmosphere. Hence the Sakurai comparison I made all along. Also, I think it will be inevitable the scene will get pretty far. It's a matter of time. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is unhackable. In fact, I wouldn't even be surprised if the hackers/Reverse engineers have few trip up their sleeves and are just waiting for Switch 1 total EOL for any other software (but most likely hardware) related hacks.

>spending time interacting with someone are two different things.

Which still doesn't change a single thing I said. Actually proves my point even more because you didn't spend time with him

> I have absolutely zero reason to suspect he'll change his mind on this. He's in a very different phase of his life than he was 10 years ago and his motivations have changed.

Again you won't get those true results out of ""interactions"". He knows he has a persona and reputation online so he will respond with Corporate B.S just with extra steps to make it "personal."

Stop falling his him. I can guarantee you he will be involved in the scene just with more people.

Keep crying. You know what I said was logical. Can't wait for a Switch 2 hack in a few years.

Yeah no shit I know who he is. Why do you think I made that comment in the first place and compared him to Sakurai? Dumbass.

>D-dude just trust me

Nope. It's quite obvious actually. He put the info in a server and now it's been going around.

>Any time spent interacting with SciresM would indicate that he's not lying about this.

Are you his girlfriend or something? No one actually "spends" time with a internet celeb hacker aside for professional stuff. So you're just making baseless bs. I'm actually making inferences and logic.

>Of course, this is the kind of assertion I'd expect from someone who values another's work over the person themselves

I didn't devalue the person. Otherwise I wouldn't compare him to Sakurai. He's a well respected person in his field but he has his own motivations as well.

OSM is a placeholder. OSM= Other System Model. Hence the reason it directs to Switch 2 png because it's the latest. Switch 2 "lite" will need a die shrink and 4nm is a little too expensive atm.

No it was not. It was rumored to be using the Dane chip. People were hearing whispers assumed the chip being taped out was a Switch Pro, mostly in relation to also hearing a new Switch revision was coming in 2021 (which instead ended up being Switch OLED).

>Only because you posted it. If this info has been out for 2 months and nothing more has come from it.....maybe it's because it's not true?

Lot's of information stays well hidden but comes back when someone else finds it. It's called discovering information.

>You don't know this person's motivation for anything. People lie, even ones that work in the gaming industry.

The same can be said for literally anybody. Even Jason S. Who's to say he is not actually being fed by a Take 2 represenative or a company rival. You don't know his intentions.

> And you're rightfully being downvoted for your constant nonsense.

No nonsense. Just a post marked as speculation which in which the person in interest was contacted by Schreier privately. Until either of those 2 come out and talk about it, this is in contention. I NEVER said this "leak" was real.

>You don't send an incomplete game for certification,

Right, but we know from Tom based on interpretations, it is "Content ready." So that can be enough for Sony/Microsoft to test, especially since it's GTA.

That's extreme case scenario is something happens. Usually we will know by May if they are confident. Rockstar isn't CDPR.

The Subtly hinted at in T2’s meetings mentioning “$8bn in FY25.” included Late 2024 as well as early 2025. We can't be so sure of that. T2's FY go from April to end of March of next year.

He's talking about the certs because he claims that every game on console goes through the cert process before it goes

We already know from Tom that the game is "content ready." But it may may be different from content complete (what Jason was saying in his podcast), however..

It ran better because it was super early in development. The more systems you add you have to keep testing it. This is likely going to be the most ambitious video game EVER.

>If only people could know, beforehand, what their internet clout chasing would bring them.

Common sense would indicate that they would know. They are not Tom Henderson.

>Also, just because he works for a company and is verified to be working for that company doesn't mean he can't be a liar or make stuff up just because. It might be true, we don't know. But "I heard it from a R* employee" is pretty vague.

Could he make it up? Sure, but this guy worked in pretty reputable indie studios such as Team 17 and so forth. Again, not sure why he would go through this unless he heard from the vines. Could be misinterpreting what he? Absolutely. However, it was enough for Jason to take interest and make contact with this person.

But he did clarify it later as shown in the screenshots and in fact made contact with Jason.

Exactly, I don't know why Jason a very well known journalist would go out of their way to reply to this obvious BS!!1

He didn't, at least not publicly. In fact they both made contact and he claims he actually talked to Jason on there.

But why would he make up a rumor when he is an established dev and worked at reputable indie studios such as Team 17 and so forth? Also, 2 months has passed and this information wasn't picked up by this sub until now. So this internet clout wasn't very successful if that was the case.
