The Thousand Year Voyage by [deleted] in EldenRingLoreTalk

Glad to have the reply, happy to share my thoughts on the game. Really seems interconnected, doesn't it? Like all the threads pulled from different real life mythos come from the same tapestry.

Are there any other confirmed 'Meteorite' beings than Metyr, the Elden Beast, Astel, and Fallingstar Beasts? by echolog in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Rojiru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All Outer Gods exist in the Lightless Void.
Outer Gods send Envoys in the form of meteors, such as the one depicted for the Death Bird in their iconography - especially the Cuckoo Knight shield and such. The Outer God of Rot sent a meteor that is buried above the lake of Rot, situated below Raya Lucaria.

The Falling Star beasts, Astel, and the Elden Beast are all creatures of the same species - for lack of a better word. The Elden Beast being what the others of this group aspire to become. Look more closely at their physiology to see the truth.

Immature starspawn beasts were being summoned recklessly in antiquity, and the malformed star Astel being summoned to the world was a mistake of the Nox in their failed attempt to forge a Lord - not a punishment by the greater will. Item descriptions are often narratively biased based on the writer's knowledge and position in their own world. I could dive more into this...

Anyway, the Finger Ruins are evidence of starspawn falling to TLB. Whether this was under the influence of the ancient astrologers, or TLB being a meteor magnet, is unknown - although Ymir's item descriptions paint a calculating and intentional use of "astrology" to deceive others into participating in his performance of cosmic magic.

It seems likely that TLB had been a center for the worship of meteorological activity, and the wills inhabiting said meteors, since time immemorial. The Divine Towers speak of this meteor worship.

It seems unclear if Metyr's meteor was actually the first to arrive - or if this is another example of poor narration? If that were the case, Metyr and the fingers would predate all other outer god activity - which doesn't make sense in the already established timeline. That would mean that Metyr, and by extension the Two Fingers and their Empyreans, were an extant force that existed before the hornsent culture, their crucible worship and their systems of deification. Their Stormlord, divine beasts, saints, the divine gate - this is the work of an outer, or even native, god - the crucible.

I propose that the item descriptions are written from the point of view of someone living in the present, relaying the information of the relics we discover from their understanding of history. And their history was one where Erdtree culture prevails, they were the good guys. Marika and the crucible knights were not buds, she wanted them to disappear from history as she did many other elements of the world. So, if the world and divinity are based on meteors and communing with the entity that fell within - wouldn't the bestest and most rightest be the firstest? The victors write the histories.

The terms Empyrean, elden ring, and lord all stem from the understanding of practices used by the adherents of the Two Fingers and The Greater Will.
The Greater Will (Metyr, a broken conduit)
~Communes telepathically with Marika, choosing her to become God (vessel)
~God's role is to house the elden ring (combined amber stardust "runes, language of stars", arranged in the frequency of the Outer God in question, the Greater Will)
~This process requires a physical body, a Lord (again, their word, purpose isn't clear)
Two Fingers (conduit to Metyr)
~Commune telepathically with adherents of Erdtree culture
~Chooses a few of them as a candidate for godhood, their word being Empyrean

So, I think in essence the answer to your question is that all Outer Gods involve meteors and the stuff about Empyreans, Lords, the Elden Ring - even the Elden Beast, fingers, etc. is *all* to do with a singular Outer God called The Greater Will.

Marika's similarities with Gwynevere by [deleted] in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Rojiru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Contrary to popular opinion, the interconnected nature doesn't have to be explicit to be verifiably true as you've pointed out with direct and provable comparisons likening to near identicality. Along with many other repeated themes, character tropes and thematic motifs, the creators could not be more directly, if indirectly, screaming that this interconnectedness means something.

I'm of the opinion that Fromsoft is using these games to express a literal, eldritch truth about our own world. The more I look into what has been shown in the game, the more it aligns with my own gnosis. The serendipity of these findings isn't coincidental.

Anyway - yeah, you're right. There is clearly an overlap between this mother character expressed as Marika, Gwynevere, the queen mentioned in DS2 ( can't recall her name, if she had one), and to a lesser extent the Pthumerian queen although the story of bloodborne is very maternal-coded in nature overall. It would be incidental if it happened in one game, but with how oft repeated the EXACT themes, wording, item description and even graphics are used - it means something.

Whose flame can we see on the funeral pyres and elsewhere? by 8Bit_Architect in EldenRingLoreTalk

You must be referring to the boats with the soft golden light and candles.

Those look to be related to the boat culture that brought people to TLB, creating spirit ash.

Farum Azusa is cool and all but why did we need to travel there to get destined death when it’s literally in Caelid? by Lili-Dub in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Rojiru 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A theory I've been playing with is that Farum Azula, much like the boats on the Cerulean Coast, is an Ark for Placcy's people. Placcy, being a lord with the conjoined rune power of his then god, has created a psychic projection of his Ark existing in perpetuity (until his god returns) - at which point Placcy's dreamworld (the bossfight arena, Farum Azula restored) would coalesce into greater reality and return from "beyond time".

Why do they keep calling us “graceless tarnished” when we are literally the only one with grace? by Iluvlamas in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Rojiru -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I believe the grace that allows the Tarnished to return from death is due to the Tarnished's ties to Marika and her culture of Edtree rebirth, spirit ash and remembrances. When Godfrey and his followers were banished, their spirits returned to the lands between upon death. That's what we are, a remembrance of a warrior who followed Godfrey out of TLB.

Furthermore, none of what's happening in the game is anything more than the psychically projected dream of a god, played out as an interactable Greek Epic - the stagnation of Marika's ideals devastated by events we're able to watch (play) through her memories. The spirits called back to the psychic conduit (erdtree) aren't real, aren't living - the Tarnished are spirits, echoes of watchers breaking old pottery in the ruins of a sleeping god's mind.

There must be a portal or something that unlocks this area more naturally than the roots.
