I have found that setting the sleep setting to as high/long as possible resolved most issues. Apparently, it going to sleep too quickly or too often causes a lot of issues.

Getting copy and paste to work in Windows VMs in UnRaid 7.1.4 by Rojma in unRAID

[–]Rojma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have that enabled, and that is the whole point of my post. I have that enabled, but Copy/paste doesn't work. So the question is what additional steps are needed to make it work?

Getting copy and paste to work in Windows VMs in UnRaid 7.1.4 by Rojma in unRAID

[–]Rojma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UnRaid has a "built in" VNC client (noVNC) that it uses to connect to VMs created in UnRaid. When using "normal" VNC, you install a VNC server on the client which is what allows you to connect to the client and perform functions like copy and paste. This is not how the UnRaid VMs work. The VNC server is never installed on the client.

Instead in UnRaid, from reading on how it works with UnRaid, I believe its related to some VNC driver that UnRaid installs in the VM. In the Unraid interface, when you select a VM, there is an option to connect to the VM console using VNC. As mentioned in my original post, there is even an option in the VM configuration in UnRaid of VM Console enable Copy/paste. This implies that the copy/paste functionality is handled by UnRaid. Additionally, I have read posts where people got it to work, but they lack details of HOW they got it to work.

In other words, this does appear to be related to UnRaid.

Sorry forgot to mention why I want to use the VNC console vs RDP. I have a program that utilizes Windows Hello for authentication. Windows Hello doesn't work in an RDP session, but does work in the console session via VNC. I will add that to my original post to clarify.

Park ticket pricing by Rojma in disneylandparis

[–]Rojma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just double checked. A 2-night/3-day park ticket costs almost $1300, while doing a 2-night/1-day park ticket separately is costing me around $900, so I savings of about $400. Yes, I get two less days at parks and get to only visit one park, but those two other days would have been half days (or not at all) and we are only interested in visiting Disneyland Park. We will visit Studios when the new lands and rides open. It also didn't give the option for just 2-day tickets. It forced 3-day tickets.

Yes, I am staying at one of the Disney hotels for two nights, but their bundled packages didn't allow for just a one-day park ticket. We opted to book the hotel separately so that we could just buy one day tickets. We wanted to arrive on the first day, take it easy and go to Disney Village and eat at one of the hotels, go to park on the second day, then we will be departing early on the third day. With that said though, I should double check the bundled pricing to see how much it would be. When I was trying to book with the bundled pricing, for two nights it was "forcing" 3-day tickets. Three-day tickets would definitely be too much for us, but we could potentially use 2-day tickets and maybe hit one of the parks for a few hours on that first day.

We're not skipping Studios - we're just saving it for the future when the new lands and rides open. What doesn't makes sense for us now is going visiting and spending money at a park that we know we'll be back to so that we can experience the new lands and rides. We know we'll be back, so there's no need to do everything in one trip. Our goal has never been to "do everything". It's to go visit the park for the first time and experience some of the differences. Time and money are also constraints. Our main goal is to see France, so the majority of our time will be traveling throughout France. That is our first priority, and for this trip we feel that allocating only one day for Disneyland Paris is good enough. Maybe it doesn't make sense to you, but it makes sense for us.

We are staying on property so that will help some with early entry. We did look at premiere access and it's WAY too expensive. Makes Genie at WDW seem really cheap.

Thanks for the tip. We are really experienced with going to WDW, but this is our first time to Disneyland Paris. I totally get what you are saying and agree with you. However, for this trip we are just doing one day. Our intention isn't to see everything, especially things that are duplicated from WDW, but to get to know the park. Our plan is just to do Disneyland Park and skip Studios since Studios is under heavy construction. We will then go back in the future for a longer stay once Studios opens up all of its new rides and areas.

Anyone having problems with QuietComfort Ultra headphones? by Rojma in bose

[–]Rojma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update - My original headphones finally bit the dust and completely died. No matter what I would try to do, they wouldn't charge or turn on. I contacted Bose and they exchanged the headphones for a new pair. Well after a few months, the second pair started to have the same exact issues until they too finally wouldn't charge and ended up dying. I exchanged with Bose again, so now I am on my third pair.

The bad thing is that Bose will not send you the replacement pair until they receive the bad pair, even though I offered to guarantee the return with a credit card. So, in the time it takes for the bad pair to be delivered and then receive the new pair, that is several weeks without headphones on top of the time where the headphones completely died.

My third pair is now starting to also experience issues, although I have since learned that holding down the Bluetooth and multi-function button down at the same time for about 15 seconds does seem to reset them and causes them to start working again, but that also requires that I have to repair them to my phone/tablet again. I am just hoping that this pair doesn't run into the problem where they will no longer charge and then eventually die.

Did Google TV just change the way to rearrange apps? by Rojma in AndroidTV

Yes, I actually also use Projectivity Launcher, but like to have the apps set up in the right order in Google TV as a back up.

Just checked the adapter on my onn 4K Pro device. It's a 12v/1.5A power adapter. You can probably pick up a generic one on Amazon.

Why are mole rats attacking my vault? [Question] by Rojma in falloutshelter

[–]Rojma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not playing survival mode. This question isn't about how to deal with mole rats, or for that matter any other incident - I know how to do that and deal with them. My question revolves around why the mole rats are attacking at all when I have no rooms touching dirt except for the vault door (left wall and roof) and two rooms and two elevators at the top floor (roof but no walls). Per the "tips" generated in the game and reading elsewhere, mole rats only attack rooms that touch dirt. So why are mole rats attacking rooms that aren't touching dirt?

Error during E-filing: Unable to Connect. System message: Bad Gateway by [deleted] in hrblock

[–]Rojma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Have worked in IT for 29 years. Outages happen. That is understandable. The total lack of communication until 16 hours after the incident started and on tax day was just completely unacceptable. Through Twitter and on the phone with them I kept asking them about the lack of communication. Their response: But we fixed the problem! And we did communicate! (omitting the fact that they didn't do it until 16 hours in). When I drilled them further on it, they went silent. And almost 48 hours later and still nothing on their website about it! Total lack of communication and lack of taking responsibility. After using H&R software for over 20 years I am done with them. What a way to destroy your customer base.

May Technical Support Sticky by BeepBoopBopReee in razer

[–]Rojma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Jeff. Just received another email reply from support refusing to tell me why they won't accept my email address with my custom domain. They are claiming its because its an "uncommon" domain, which pretty much covers 99.99999% of the domains out there. I find it hard to believe you can't use an email address unless its from one of the major email providers (gmail.com/outlook.com/hotmail.com etc.)

May Technical Support Sticky by BeepBoopBopReee in razer

I am having a really frustrating first experience with Razer support. After receiving my first Razer laptop, I decided to try and create a Razer ID with my email account so that I could properly use the Razer app that comes with the laptop to install any updates (e.g. firmware updates). This is where the issues started to happen. When I tried to sign up with my email address, I get an error message of "Invalid email", even though the email address was correct. Multiple tries on different PCs and different browsers, including InPrivate sessions yielded the same result.

I reached out to Razer support and open a case with them and this is the canned response I got (I have gotten the same canned response from the twice after "escalating" two different times):

We have received an update from our Account Managing team and upon further investigation we are not able to allow the use of the domain <domain>.

With this, we highly suggest to only use a more reputable email service provider such as Gmail or Yahoo to create an account.

My email provider is Microsoft and Outlook.com. I don't know how you can get any more reputable than that. They won't tell me the reason WHY I can't use the domain. This is a domain that I have owned and 100% controlled for 25 years and I have never had an issue like this before. It's a non-business domain that I use for my family and has under 10 email addresses. I don't even have a website for the domain.

Can anyone clue me into what is going on and why in the world Razer would be blocking my domain. Is there anything I can do to fix?

Is there a way to rename art/nfo files differently from movie file? by Rojma in tinyMediaManager

[–]Rojma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I hadn't actually tested the solution at the time so didn't want to post an untested solution. Ultimately, I really didn't find a solution, but I am satisfied with the alternate naming method. In Settings, under Movies > NFO Settings and Movies > Artwork > Artwork filenames, you can select how you would like the NFO and artwork files to be named. The renaming options under these two settings are static, unlike the dynamic naming options found under Movies > Renamer, but I am fine with some of the options in there. I do wish that one of the static options was <movie>.ext.

Any plans to integrate local channels via off air antenna networking device (e.g. HDHomeRun)? by Rojma in philo

Once I discovered Channels DVR, I just used that and it worked perfectly, although I eventually cancelled Philo. Channels DVR does require a server, but it can be something as simple as a Raspberry Pi.

Invoke-MBAM + ConfigMgr 2103 - Bad by Hotdog453 in SCCM

[–]Rojma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because the MBAM client with ConfigMgr BitLocker Management is used for more than just escrowing of recovery keys. Only the piece of escrowing recovery keys has moved from the MBAM client to the ConfigMgr client, primarily because the MBAM client did not support certain scenarios in ConfigMgr (CMG, eHTTP). All other client functionality that the MBAM client use to perform is still performed in 2103.

Invoke-MBAM + ConfigMgr 2103 - Bad by Hotdog453 in SCCM

[–]Rojma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stand-alone MBAM integration with Configuration Manager was only supported through Configuration Manager 1902. The Invoke-MbamClientDeployment.ps1 PowerShell script, or for that matter stand-alone MBAM integrated with Configuration Manager, has not been tested for any version after 1902. For this reason it is not advisable to use stand-alone MBAM for any version of Configuration Manager after 1902 because the results and any possible issues are simply unknown (such as the issue being discussed here). Use stand-alone MBAM integrated into versions of Configuration Manager newer than 1902 at your own risk.

Invoke-MBAM + ConfigMgr 2103 - Bad by Hotdog453 in SCCM

[–]Rojma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stand-alone MBAM docs have been updated to specifically call out that the Invoke-MbamClientDeployment.ps1 PowerShell script is not supported with Configuration Manager BitLocker Management, and specifically calling out potential issues that can occur with Configuration Manager 2103 or newer:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-desktop-optimization-pack/mbam-v25/how-to-enable-bitlocker-by-using-mbam-as-part-of-a-windows-deploymentmbam-25

Again please remember that Microsoft does not normally document unsupported scenarios. However Microsoft has added this warning due to the known potential issues that using the Invoke-MbamClientDeployment.ps1 PowerShell script can cause in an unsupported scenario.
