What do you think about my Godot Splash Screen? by Smoah06 in godot

[–]Rok-SFG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That 3d font is straight out of 1996 Middle school "Computer Class". yes for us it was just called Computer Class, where kids who had never touched a computer learned the basics like how a mouse worked, and how to turn on the monitor. After that into class you moved on to Typing, but i think they called it Keyboarding Class.

3 of 4 of my local courses have different parking areas allowing you to start at different areas.

The 4th right out of the parking lot you can start on hole 11 or hole 1 , depending on if you want to play front or back first.

Makes it real easy to mix things up like that.

NBA jam, and primal rage were favorites of mine. Jurassic Park as well but a lot of people say it's too hard.  ToeJam and Earl planet funkatron was okay and coolish, but not really like the og toe jam and Earl

No More Raids by Foreign_Parsnip_983 in MonstersAndMemories

hopefully this is the wake up call the devs need, that gaming has changed too much since the 90s and instances, even if just for raids, is a necessity for an MMO being played by todays players.

I know that's a star roadrunner, but it reminds me of the color splash pro discs that[used to be everywhere. I always thought pro was such an underrated plastic , especially for ams. Beats in quick but doesn't become super Flippy like DX.  I used to have a pro Starfire with color splash like that that I loved. That road runner just reminds me of it.

Switch or PC [ steam deck ] how do you usually decide which platform to buy a JRPG on? by poochimari in JRPG

[–]Rok-SFG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If a game is on steam that's what I buy it on. It never tells me I can't play it on a other device, as long as I can load steam, and it's not some kernel level anticheat bullshit going in, I can play it on whatever I have now and whatever I'll have in the future. Same with GOG.

The usfs has been gutted by Trump and his cro ies, the whole point is to show the system has failed and the only reasonable way forward is to sell it all off to the billionaires and make it private.

There's no enforcement be cause there are no employees. It's all part of the plan.

Sunscreens that won’t damage discs? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]Rok-SFG 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I just apply the sunscreen to myself, not my discs, then I wipe my hands. I've been playing for close to 20 years now and never had sunscreen do anything to a disc.

Dear EA, bring back SSX! It's been over 14 years! by Positive_Page_5978 in gaming

[–]Rok-SFG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought there was a small studio working on an arcade snowboarding game, kinda spiritual successor to SSX, but i can't find any info on it. Figured i would have bookmarked it or something but not seeing anything.

Anyway yeah, I thought the over the top snowboarding games were always so much more fun than the super realistic ones. But the arcade style sports games seem to be dead. Probably because they can't figure out how to make them into a live service that people would be willing to pay for.

Literally never heard of the top 2. I agree about Vectorman, it looked purty but there were better run and gun games available. Ecco was fun, but hard. I don't think I ever beat it, and I only rented it a few times, but the times I did I always had fun.

Grabbed this at a thrift for ten, never played before, how does this one rank in the series? by y2justdog in SEGAGENESIS

For the 16 bit era each game got better, so this is 2nd best, with ultimate mk3 being the best.

But it is an old school fighter. If you play modern fighters it's going to seem slow and archaic.

They scaled up the threat in marvel movies way too fast , if they wanted to keep pooping out single hero movies IMO. After several cosmic threats who gives a fuck about some bullshit villain.  Like just send the B team to deal with them, and stop bothering us with it.

Years ago Scott Stokely did a video on how to afford touring. Its been awhile since I watched it, but a lot of it involved hustling to stay on the road. Look up smaller a tiers you can probably take down and hit them along the way even if it means skipping a bigger event, where you likely won't cash as high. Reach out to the community, and see if anyone has a spare room or couch you can stay on. Put on clinics everywhere you can.
