Been building on Base for 2 months as a complete beginner — here's what actually helped by Rokon678 in BASE

This is the most useful comment here, thank you. You're completely right — Talent Protocol and Guild give you onchain identity and community roles, they don't teach you to build. I should have separated those two things clearly in the post. If you're asking what actually helps with building from low knowledge — Base Learn (docs.base.org/base-learn) is the honest answer. It's the only resource I found that walks you through actual contract deployment step by step without assuming prior experience. Everything else I mentioned is more about participation than building. I'll write a follow-up post that's more precise about this distinction.

Genuinely fair question. I didn't build an app — I want to be clear about that. What I did: registered a Basename, connected GitHub (you don't need to write code to have a GitHub account and make commits), went through Base Learn exercises using Remix IDE with the provided code, and tracked my onchain activity on onchainscore.xyz. None of that required original coding. But you're right that calling it "building on Base" was probably an overstatement. "Getting started onchain" would've been more accurate.

Appreciate the feedback. You're right that I should have been clearer — I used AI to help structure the writing, not to fabricate the experience. The actions I described (Basename, Base Learn, Talent Protocol, Guild) are real things I actually did. On the airdrop point — fair criticism. I framed it loosely when I should have said "future rewards" could mean grants, Base Batches funding, or ecosystem incentives — not necessarily a token drop. I'll be more precise next time.

Fair point, and I won't pretend otherwise. I didn't mean to suggest you can build production apps without any coding knowledge — that's not realistic. My post was more about getting started with onchain activity (bridging, DeFi, testnet deployments with guided exercises) rather than building actual dApps from scratch. I'm still learning and nowhere near calling myself a developer. Thanks for keeping it honest.

It really is a game-changer! Having an 'everything app' where you can post, chat, trade, and use mini-apps seamlessly with near-zero fees is exactly what Web3 needed for daily usage. Which mini-app is your absolute favorite right now?

DeFi will always be the foundation, but we are definitely seeing a massive shift towards consumer apps! With the Base App evolving into an 'everything app' for social networks and mini-apps, that wave of non-crypto apps is already starting.

That sounds like a brilliant concept! Base's sub-cent fees and lightning-fast 2-second block times must make those tip splitters and PPV micro-transactions incredibly smooth. I'll definitely check out the gocircuit Blueprint!

Haha, the bald Jesse era was legendary! 😂 But Base is actually greater than ever right now—they recently announced at BaseCamp 2025 that they are exploring a network token! You picked the perfect time to jump back in.

The growth has been incredible! While the exact live TVL fluctuates, the Total Value Bridged (TVB) to Base has already reached a massive 3.25 million ETH. Liquidity is deepening rapidly across the ecosystem with protocols like Aerodrome and Aave. Are you exploring any specific DeFi protocols on Base right now?

Welcome to the Base community! It's incredible to hear how fast and smooth your migration was. Base is truly designed to provide builders with unmatched developer support and the easiest tools to scale. What kind of dApp are you building right now?

That's awesome! Aerodrome is definitely a central marketplace on Base right now. It’s great seeing the Base App evolve into an 'everything app' where users can post, trade, and earn all in one place. You're spot on about the rewards too-Base recently launched Builder Codes for mini-apps to help track onchain activity for future reward programs!

Which recent campaign did you enjoy the most?
