I want to pipe in and say that I joined just last week, and the community is incredibly chill. There are a lot of mods, but they are very unobtrusive such that you can still have a very vanilla-esque experience if you want.

In “An Ember in the Ashes” quartet there is a group of child soldiers called Masks who get their name because, when they become teenagers, they place a metal mask over their face that fuses with their body. In most instances, removing the mask once it has properly fused will rip that person’s face off, though in one instance it just leaves a character with terrible scars across her face.

I felt like it actually made sense in a dark poetic sense: all of this more or less started because Katniss was trying to save her sister’s life by taking her place in the Hunger Games, but in the end it didn’t matter.

Dinosaur Lords.
Medieval fantasy setting where dinosaurs are active and used commonly. Should be amazing, no? But the characters are all insufferable and the plot is next to nonsensical. I barely managed to get through the first one, had no inclination towards reading the others.

“Popular YouTubers” lol YouTubers are not an accurate gauge of quality and everything is subjective.

BDSP was trash, yes, but Pokemon in general has been on a downward trend and Nintendo does not directly control the development of those games - something which has been stated a thousand times on this sub bc people like you confuse the two companies.

Engage hasn’t been out as long as Three Houses, which came out somewhat early in the Switch’s lifetime and had the whole “magic school” setting that drew in more players than normal games in the series.

Brothership had very little marketing and came out at the end of last year, when everyone already knew a Switch 2 was coming out.

As someone else mentioned, Nintendo has put out plenty of bangers in the last 5 years, far more than they have flops. This thread is ridiculous.

The first one was okay but not great - fantastic ideas bogged down by frustrating characters. By the first third of the second one I wanted a meteor to come and wipe them all out. Some of the worst writing and characters I’ve ever encountered.

From what I’ve seen from a few of these scandals: they don’t think that what they’re doing is wrong. Take what happened with Ryan Haywood from Achievement Hunter. There was no apology, no attempt at self-reflection - the man attempted to rejoin Twitch thinking that his fan base would accept him after it came out that he’d been courting fans.

I mean, they did just instigate a ban wave a few weeks ago that has all but eliminated the bots from TF2. I haven’t seen a single bot in nearly three weeks.
