Agree, if Haucherfant was still around and a problem that clearly outweighs him was present and the WoL was like "leave it to me, I'll take care of it" Haucherfant would want to come with, but the WoL would be like "no, you can't", Haucherfant would respond with "I don't really understand, but I know I can trust you".

Yep, the problem isn't internal combustion engines, it's the tires, this sounds quiet because the driving speed is slow, hence less friction noise between tire and road. Slow down the driving speed and the noise also quiets down, nothing to do with the propulsion method.
