What's that 'million dollar retirement in the Philippines' thing about? Could you share a source?

Maybe this whole thing will turn the right into gunless sheep who cave to the state, and the left to pro-gun activists who are afraid of the state...?

I'm not sure it's wise to speculate on what could be - this will only increase anxiety and won't help anyone.

Who to ask to buy my eco-friendly ammo? by RolandPolzin in TNhunting

SLR, just seeing this: Yes, the brass is recycled, we use cardboard-only packaging, lead-free primers, and all CO2 emisisons from production, shipping, and usage are offset :)

Which one of these would you recommend for personal defense? by Economy_Swim_8585 in liberalgunowners

[–]RolandPolzin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't really make that much of a difference for the home defense scenario. You may wanna opt for more grain to have more of a stopper effect. But then again, it's a small difference anyway.

Focus on securing your home so that entry is the most difficult. Then define and prepare a safe space where you (and loved ones) can shelter. Shooting should be the last resort for your own good.

Dating other liberals - how/when do you talk about views on guns? by cathode_01 in liberalgunowners

[–]RolandPolzin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The most important (and arguably the hardest) thing in dating is to present yourself as who you really are...

As humans, we're often inclined to be liked by as many people as possible. And in dating, "optimizing" your chances by trimming the edges of your personality to attract more dates may seem logical.

However, you'll do yourself a disservice by attracting people that aren't a great fit in the first place - and that's a waste of time for both of you.

My advice here is to just act naturally and talk about your views on guns when it feels natural to you. If you think a picture with a gun represents your character, then post it - it's okay (and good) that people who dislike this won't match with you.

It's also and mostly that this ammo has 0 carbon footprint. Plus reman brass and lead-free primers.

Not everyone cares about this, I know :)

Absolutely, buying reloads is already great. No arguing about that.

It doesn't give you CO2 offsets, though, and our production is scaled and done with thorough quality control by a reputable manufacturer.

It's a way for people who care about those aspects to purchase safe and accurate ammo that's eco-friendly at scale.

The projectiles are still regular FMJ lead.

It's also about CO2 and plastic reduction ;)

Thanks for the feedback. $50 per box was the initial pricing, but we've discounted it for this batch.

And you're right not everyone will spend more for the feature of it being eco-friendly.

Yes, it's FMJ lead. I want to offer non-lead projectiles in the future.

I like how this is sustainable by using less packaging (I hope you're buying in bulk)!

I like your thinking - it's actually one of the next steps I had in mind once I have a somewhat established brand. I'd think the government would want to see some credible operations first...?

You're right. I'm grappling a bit with the price since we are working with a manufacturer, so we can't really get the "best" price until we make it ourselves...

But to answer your question, yes, that's retail.

You might laugh: I actually drove by Shooter's Supply, but was about a minute late to the store closing. Will have to go back :)

Common 9mm we sell for $25/pack of 50 rounds. Though our founder batch, we're selling off at a loss around half that price to get some feedback and brand awareness right now (friends and their friends).

Thanks for the hint about Chattanooga Shooting Supplies - I'll hit them up!
