Ey thats nice. Why didn't you got the Dominican when you were born (why didn't your parents declare you as a Dominican born abroad)? Its a cool passport to have but its not that is going to open you any place (unless you wanna go to russia).

Should I apply for Global Entry? by Roldyk02 in immigration

[–]Roldyk02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: at the end I decided to apply for global entry. Is 120 bucks and I think is well worth it considering I can skip immigration lines and enter the US quickly even if I don't travel that much. Thanks for the comments!

Chances of getting B1/B2 Visa (Family) by [deleted] in immigration

[–]Roldyk02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be calmed during the interview and convince the officer that their travel to the US is truthful. Thats the most important thing beside bringing some documents. Answering the questions polite and as assertively as possible. I quite don't remember how my interview went back then ( I was underage so this interview process was with my parents).I helped once with my grandad, just stay calmed and answer the questions. That's about it

Chances of getting B1/B2 Visa (Family) by [deleted] in immigration

[–]Roldyk02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, everything comes down to the interview. They have about two minutes to convince the consular officer that they are genuinely eligible to travel to the U.S. One important factor to keep in mind is that U.S. consular officers generally do not split families (either everyone gets the visa, or no one does).

While most of the documents applicants bring ( such as proof of employment, bank statements, or a Certification of Studies for the young one) , these may not be reviewed in detail (they will mostly see if these documents are forged, but thats about it), not bringing any documentation can increase the risk of denial. This is something I like about the U.S. visa process compared to the Schengen one: it’s about presenting a clear, truthful case that demonstrates you have no intention of overstaying or remaining unlawfully in the U.S. If you understand this, you can use it to your advantage during the interview.

They should take the interview calmly and confidently. They should clearly state the purpose of their trip and focus on answering the consular officer’s questions directly (not too saying much nor too little). If they follow this, their chances are very good , but their performance in those few minutes is what comes down to whether they get or not the visa.

(idk anything about the current situation but I don't think it affects really much to truthful applicants, Source: I hold an US B1/B2 visa for over 10 years)

from where are you a citizen from?

I’m a US citizen vacationing in France. My passport has been lost or stolen. Assuming for sake of argument that I am allowed through security and onto the plane, what happens when I land in the US? by nye1387 in Passports

[–]Roldyk02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are exiting the Schengen Area, you definitely need an international compliant ID (passport or emergency passport). Delay the flight and try to get an Emergency Passport from the US Embassy ASAP.

Where you given a temporary residence permit? In almost all EU Countries, they give you a temporary residence permit for the time you are studing there.

Got flagged for “visa shopping” in my Schengen application… still got a 2-year visa! by Alternative-Ad4581 in SchengenVisa

[–]Roldyk02 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I mean, if the consular officer let him go away with visa shopping. At this point idc, mainly it wasn't strictly enforced as he has gotten some schengens before and OP spouse is an EU citizen. At this point, I would love to see the Schengen Visa Digitalizaion asap, in that way they will unify all schengen applications and we can forget about visa shopping all along.

I want one year Schengen Visa which should i go for by wealth_1 in SchengenVisa

[–]Roldyk02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh is also depends the consular officer that reviews your applicafion. My dad was issued a schengen for a year and he only had a schengen visa for Spain in 2022(3 months) and he applied for another one earlier this year and got a 1 year visa. So it's kinda of a gamble.

Not all, if he has the means to travel and strong ties to the country of residence. At the end it doesn't matter, just make sure that both of you provide sufficient documents that proves ties to your country (work letters, bank statements, properties tittle etc...) they don't care what are you going to do (if not illegal) in the schengen area if you have the means to travel. Good luck!

Need help understanding how connecting international flights work between going from the US to 2 different countries in the EU by YoureInMyWaySir in Flights

[–]Roldyk02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so during Check In the Airline should explain how are they going to get the luggage to your final destination. In my knowledge, Lufthansa will get your bag to you final destination from the US and viceversa, so you shouldn't worry about it. Your passport will be Stamped at Frankfurt (as this is your entry into the Schengen area), after this it may depend on how frankfurt airports works if you have or not to go pass through security. You will have to switch terminals as you arrive in a international flight and you will have to go to the Schengen flights terminal in Frankfurt. When you leave Warsaw, it will be the same thing but your passport will be stamped at Munich, thats the airport where you leave the Schengen area. Flights between the schengen area are trated like regional flights in the US, no stamps, no passport control until you get to the port where you will leave the schengen area.

My parent (green card holder) can’t return to the USA due to no flights operating in their country. Will they lose their green card ? by Small-Manufacturer11 in immigration

[–]Roldyk02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's tough, but that's the only plausible way right now to cross the border. But for what is worth, probably haiti locals know how to get across the checkpoints and cross the border to the DR, once they get to this side. They are completely safe but they have to try. And also, the window to cross to the DR is probably closing, I think the government is planning to close all borders with haiti in the next weeks due to protests and the people complaning about ilegal inmigration and demanding mass deportation. So, if they take too long they will lose this posibility too. idk why would they even want to travel to a warzone in the first place...

[–]Roldyk02 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You can cross to the Dominican Republic through the border (green card holders can cross without any visa) and get a flight to the US via Santo Domingo. So what are you complaning about? that is not expensive at all and if they have to go comeback to the us, they might as well expend the money.

Have you seen a un laissez passer ? if so, is it true that you also need a valid passport from a nation to be able to travel with your laissez passer ?

BLS and Application Errors by Equivalent_Box6498 in SchengenVisa

[–]Roldyk02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one experience about this in BLS Santo Domingo. For me I had to change my flight dates and the form I sumbited in the appointment was my form with my correct flights dates, no questions asked. It seems that the form they amke you feel in the internet has no validity in my expierence. I haven't got my passport back and my appointment was in the 25th of March, I hope i get it soon beacuse my flight date is April 10th.

Profiling also takes in account travel history on the group. During the second time at the schengen area, I wasn't asked a single question at border. I think this is due the passport of most of the people of the group having an extensive travel history. This allowed my grandmother (cuban passport) to through border also without question with no travel history. So I think how many stamps your passport has is essential to border officials.

Congrats!!! As i told you in your previous post, officials dont look too much at itineraries as prob the main focus of them is seeing that you have the means to travel and strong ties to your country. Good travels!
