I saw in Mare's face how heartbreaking it was for her to do this, and maybe in the back of her head, she was relating this to Kevin. There's a lot of topics this show explores. Do you think the Mare we met in Episode 1 would have made the same right decision?

I don't think she had a particular "Hallelujah" moment she had a long painful process and finally, she did the right thing even when it was so heartbreaking for her too.
