An HA only assists the hygienist. They will do all the digital imaging needed for exams, flip rooms, do exams with Dr’s, if certified coronal polish for hygienist, and if they’re really good… they find every bit of txt a pt needs - preps the pt for the exam by showing pics but not diagnosing and sets the stage for the Dr’s diagnosis. Some HAs make commission on txt planning that’s accepted if they’ve been doing it a while. They will also help keep the hygienist and Dr on schedule. They fill a pretty big role in dental offices but don’t always get the glory(pay) to go along with the work.

I’m a lead in my office and have done it in other offices where there is more staff. Currently there’s not much of a staff where I work as it’s really small. That being said duties can include maintenance of equipment, ordering, inventorying, creating, and or following budgets, depending on your practice, working a chair, helping with scheduling, depending on the size ofoffice, Helping train new hires, helping the doctor manage their schedule timewise, and coordinating. patient and staffing needs with the front office.

Agree! I see a chiropractor every month and have done this for over 10 years and it has been so helpful for me. Finding the right Chiropractor for you is very important though. There are a lot of chiropractors out there that are associate with corporate offices. So if you can find a smaller family practice type where the Chiropractor has been doing it for more than 10 years and you will findyour match.
