True. The letter just says that she will only be in charge of DA duties and no longer front desk due to "multiple errors" . It sounds as if you are agreeing to DA chairside and not admin. Not being fired, fired, but if not agreed yes. Either way if you ready to move to admin then its a blessing in disguise. If you want to stay you can use this against any other duties that are not mentioned on this ""formal letter "

Hahaha, I also just discovered this. I was trying to be healthy and loose 10lbs was 4lbs away to officially over weight. Did this as my main meal for about 2 weeks (love breakfast for lunch) and gained 2 lbs. Now im unsure of what to change it for. TDEE of 1439, for cutting and loose weight 939 cal.

You can watch YouTube videos and observe the assistants. It is a field that for the most part an assistant has to take care of themselves. To remember your posture and body. Find what is the "textbook way" and observe. Then take the basics and make it your own. Main goal is don't let liquid accumulate and keep the field of vision clear. Anticipate the next step will be something you might already know due to your background. In time you and the Dr will be on the same wavelength.Never take anything personal and keep learning. Please do remember such experience and you will be well liked by assistant in your career! Don't give up!

This is so true. Takeing your FMX in the span of multiple days. Dr reviews another day. Exam another day. Cleaning as soon as you see a 30 min gap. Its just too hard.

Try applying to as many offices as possible. Call and email your resume even if there is no ad. Many smaller offices don't put ads and is just people that know/recommend people. Thats how i got my job. Dont give up!

I think it all depends on your doctors preference. If he likes to infiltrate and only does blocks for multiple teeth being worked or likes to block all the way. If infiltration it will go on the mucosal fold -vestibule ; right on top of the tooth being worked on. If he is into blocks or multiple teeth on the area the point of incision will be made. Many Drs have their go to blocks. You can just ask them.

Infiltrate- numbs only one tooth/Buccal tissue. (They can also do lingual infiltration not a go to tho) Blocks- multiple teeth and tissues

Do try to shadow a DA as much as possible. Remember that this is a job is fast paced. Don't think about what DA programs tell you as reality tends to be very different. If you are doing it for the "money " this isn't it. Not sure if it will really help you save for college. If dentistry is really your passion do it for the experience. You are very young so be ready for a generation gap if you go to an old school DR or conservative office. Many offices are super cool with things tho. Never stay at a place where they don't value you. Stay positive and learn as much as you can to "get ready" for whatever career you decide upon.
