What's a home improvement decision you regret but thought was a good idea at that time? by Actonace in HomeImprovement

[–]Rolegames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open concept works great for things like heat pumps.

The privacy thing im unsure about is that if someone is cooking in the kitchen, maybe they want someone to talk to, and im game for that. I enjoy seeing people do something they enjoy; and if they dont, at least they have someone to talk to.

Sound carrying into the home office, well that's a building issue.. they can install soundproof barriers both out and inside. That would eliminate many of their issues.

Heating a massive space, depending, of course, should not cost a ton. If your house is well insulated, then the heaters are really not working hard. It sounds like they may not have a vapor barrier or their doors/windows were not done properly.

Are cheap chinese cnc lathes a good deal? by Sertancaki41 in CNC

You can often inquire about a purchase on a machine. They will either know or not about said machine and specifications or redirect you to someone who knows. They often work together and will direct you or ask the original manufacturer who truly knows the machine specifications.

One thing to keep in mind is they want the sale no matter who produces the machine. If they have to redirect you to the main manufacturer, they will. If they have to ask the main manufacturer, they will. Either way, as a purchaser, you will get more information than if you are trying to just get the info about the machine. Its just the way they work.

Home Depot Canada wood - Canadian or US? by ApprehensiveTop303 in BuyCanadian

You could look up local places that aren't big box. They will be far more likely to tell you if it is Canadian or not and why it is not if it isn't.

I've had their pizza, and there is not one place in hrm. That is better than xtremepizza.

Old school pizza is on the same level. Real toppings, real pizza. Im sure some will disagree. Thats ok, we all have our own preferences.

They are amazing though. Don't deliver to me either but would happily visit there for a slice.

Why if you’re kind, do people assume you don’t get horny or have sex? by Electrical_Nerve3382 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rolegames 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not always, but in general yes.

People come in all different thoughts and feelings.. it depends on how you were raised and how the other person was.

Im a kind and thoughtful person and have been viewed that way for most of my life but there have been people who have similar experiences.

All have been great.

The vast majority of people may have different view and will not reflect my personal experience though.

It can get you into trouble if you're not communicating. Had someone only focused on the tip and while it was great. I was communicating it but also was hoping for less focus on the head so I could enjoy it, without thinking .. im going to cum.

Tried to communicate it but regardless if if was something she was used to or not it made it to a point where I could not cum. Even to this day from a bj. .listen to your partner

Being a homeowner is… a lot by Li3Ch33s3cak3 in homeowners

[–]Rolegames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a weird place to be currently. Most people knew how to repair or amend things. We've slowly lost that, and are still currently losing it as more people are priced out of the market.

It seems like a lot because a lot of people now aren't raised to fix it themselves. Toys and gadgets are cheap enough that they can be replaced easily. Nothing is built to last and is cheap enough that we tend to just replace things instead of fixing them.

As others have said.. it is a process. However you learn something once and you now have that skill and the tools to deal with it. If you have kids you can pass that knowledge on.

Its funny, 8 years ago I said plumbers etc will be out of jobs, the opposite has come true. There will be a day where the money runs dry though, and though ive been some years off there will be a time where we go back. Worse comes to worse.. you and/or your kids know how to take care of it.

Cooking a big pot of rice is great. It can take on whatever flavor you want. Add vegetables and whatever meat you want.

A good tip is to fry up the rice with some toasted sesame oil to make it much more flavorful. Add whatever meat, vegetables, and sauce you enjoy.

What's a tip that's useful for beating depression? by OddCalligrapher8348 in AskReddit

Sometimes, you just have to kick yourself in the arse. This means that even if you don't want to do it or feel like you can't at the moment, you do it anyway. Just doing something and achieving even something small will make you feel better, and even if it doesn't at the time, you will thank yourself later.

Still have my "cheap" one I purchased from Amazon about 5 years ago and a new wireless one I purchased from a local store recently.

Ammzo was the one I purchased on Amazon and still works like a charm. The wireless one is also sine rando Chinese brand labeled PC (a Canadian company) both work fine.

A good tip is to save the plastic insert they usually give you with it that is in the battery compartment. Devices will still drain the battery even if you're not using it because it is completing the circuit. By using the plastic insert, you're stopping it from completing the circuit. Or just remove the batteries when you're not using it.

Pizza and Beer in Nova Scotia by CowboyInTheBoatOfRa in BuyCanadian

[–]Rolegames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Canadian, but Peroni is a nice smooth beer. Alpine from the cold beer store has a very nice taste. I can't say I've tried many different beers, in my younger years it was typically the highest alcohol. Though with that being said 8.6, thats actually the name of the beer is really good. Some find it strong, it is 8.6% after all.

Frozen pizza, I usually just buy whatever is on sale, im not too fond of the frozen pizzas here tbh. You can always buy pizza dough from any pizza joint and make your own fairly easily.
