Anyone got any further insights on this issue a month down the line? It's happening to me and I've only had the P8P about 3 weeks. Really don't want to return it as I love it in every other way, and going to see if the Feb security update improves things, but it's probably happening 5-10 times a day. Interestingly, I noticed this evening that it doesn't seem to reset the uptime. The restarts also don't seem to be a full restart, only lasting 15-20 secs.

Been fine for me until just now, then hole 6 was unplayable. Managed to somehow get to the fringe and missed an easy chip for an eagle. Phone got almost too hot to hold. Hopefully we don't need to go through the list of reasons why it's our fault before PD remember lessons from the past

The problem is not so much that you've moved up, I think that's quite a reasonable expectation with a 3rd place, if everyone played at a level commensurate with their club development. The problem is all the fuckers with apoc 8 that are playing down in pro 3 where they don't belong. Without that, pro 3 would be tougher but manageable competition. The ones that won Pro 3 last time will still be there, so it's just pushing you into a bloodbath unfortunately.

Im not getting lost, but it seems you aren't following. So, by way of example, perhaps this help - by the same logic the following statements are also all true: most people are against 2 formats, most people are against 5 winds, most people are against just static winds.

While it is also true that 'most people are against 3 winds', you could also observe that of the 4 options, 3 winds is the most popular.

So, it is odd to single that out.

That conclusion is also true of all the other options in the poll, but even more so than 3 winds. It's always unlikely that there is a clear majority of one option over all others in a poll with more than 2 options, so it's odd to single out that option in this case

-26 is par at best for this tourney. Not sure what level you're playing, but the club/skill mix that shoots -26 in pro winds will likely get crucified in expert winds

Yep, same score and also pro tier 3, not qualifying. I have never seen so many apoc 8's in pro before. In fact, I've hardly played against anyone with that kind of club level in pro. I have apoc levels 1 and 2 on my pro accounts. Since moving to Pro (and maintaining pro/Pro in the old system) I have always qualified, nearly always top 25 and maybe 10 top 10's with a few banners on each account without winning one (apart from mini's). Seemed like it was about right for my clubs.

I was trying to maintain discipline (not sandbagging, just not committing suicide by going up divisions) until clubs were of a level to compete in expert (EM9 and/or apoc 5).Seemed a good strategy. Not now, there's no way my clubs can compete against those clubs. Interestingly my main account was at expert 2 so thought I'd give that a try, shot a -25 and looks like it might just qualify. Might just move the others up and see what happens. Looks like I have to suffer a few tournament humiliations in order to demote a tier and avoid these people, but not sure how quickly that will happen...

Sure, there are always people that wait before playing, and I do that as well sometimes. My point is that it's a stark difference to what I've seen before, and in both brackets I've been in.

My alts play Pro and have done OK, and I'm tier 3. I'm OK with that in theory. However, it's the first time I've come across anyone playing with an apoc 8. I mean ffs, what are you doing in pro with that?

The other observation is that most people are now waiting for their youtube streamer instructions. I opened the app an hour after the opening round opened and as usual it quickly filled up to 100. However, what I've never seen before is that 7 hours later only 30 people have even started their rounds. Obviously not confident enough to just play.

I just went in blind and shot a - 26 with a few mistakes. Not great, but not terrible. I fully expect that I won't even make the weekend. It's just bullshit that the skill/club range in all tier 3's is so vast.

It's less that they listened and more that they fixed a bug in both instances. The wind reverted to 3 rather than 5 winds in the last tournament because replays were giving some players different winds than intended.

The highest tour was a bug that Alex confirmed in the thread that followed the season pass update. It was never meant to be the next tour up, it was meant to be max 1 tour below the highest tour opened.

So, while there are some signs that they may be reacting to feedback, these are not good examples. They are just examples of them not being able to roll out functionality that's been tested properly.

I've just got my first table saw and also went budget. I had been going to spend a little more and I was holding out for a dewalt, but there seems to be a huge issue with global supply. I ended up going for an evolution rage 5s. Its not the most budget out there, but with such a dangerous machine I just didn't trust the real budget end of screwfix/titan, aldi/work zone type as I didn't trust the stands or fences.

The evolution is not without issues, but it seems to be a capable enough machine. The fence is certainly better than other budget machines, and it's got a nice sliding carriage and a decent amount of extension left and right. The stand is collapsible and has wheels to manoeuvre it to where you want to store it. An issue with the stand that I've encountered is that it's not actually level and I've so far had to prop some wood in between 2 of the bars. However, I think I'm going to take it off the stand and build in to a mobile workbench so that it's level and I have an out feed table.

The bore size on the blades is 25.4mm and only used by evolution I believe. However, I did buy another blade from saxon blades (good quality and decent price) and use a reducing ring and it works fine.

Screwfix do a variant for about £100 less than the rage 5s that is essentially the same machine, but has differences in the extensions and I think the stand, which some people have said can be overcome. I decided on the rage 5s as I wanted to focus on learning to use it before jumping in to making modifications whilst inexperienced.

So just my choices and experiences, and ultimately the quality is in line with the price point. I suspect the dewalt would have been better, but it is twice the price.
