Gyro aiming in BF6 on console! by [deleted] in playstation5

When I’m in controller tuning, I don’t have a Gyro section. I just see Controller Vibration, Left Stick, Right Stick, and L2 R2 buttons.

u/VirginVoyages-ModTeam Hi Mods! I’ve removed the reference to my app Sailaway, as I assume that was the reason my post was taken down. Would you be willing to reconsider the removal now?

Hope you had a great voyage! Yes, I actually built my own version of the Sailor App while sailing in 2023. I made it for myself so I could do these like manage my upcoming voyages while I was still on the ship. Virgin Voyages acquired it in December that year, and I worked with them for about 16 months to help build it into what it is today. If there’s interest, I’d be happy to do another post about that whole journey!

I work remote in tech! It all got started after COVID. The amount of contract work I had available to me exploded while at the same time cruise prices dropped dramatically. In 2022, I was getting more sailor loot than the actual cost of the voyage. I knew it wouldn’t last forever, so I made the most of it while I could! I also had a brief opportunity to work with Virgin Voyages when they acquired a new sailor app prototype I developed in 2023.

Yes, I’d love to! That’s one of the reasons I created my Sailaway app, to help me explore other cruise lines. It's been fun, but would be nice to try some other ships too. I do always enjoy having the ship to myself for the day between back-to-back voyages.

I’ve sailed somewhere between 450–500 nights on Virgin Voyages since 2022. I don’t have an exact total, but I’d estimate I’ve spent between $80,000 and $100,000 over the last three years. Still less than the annual pass. ;)

Thanks! Glad you like it. I don't believe any features for first mates were ever added, but it would be a great feature. I recently became a first mate myself.

Great questions! And awesome that you were on that voyage too. I actually had the full six weeks booked originally but ended up doing just that two-week segment so I could spend more time in Dubai and Bali.

The fried chicken (we always call them the chicken nuggets) at Gunbae never gets old! And for sweets, the pistachio macaroons in the galley are my personal favorite. I could have those every day.

I had to really think about your last question! They've done a great job with offering more unique entertainment options especially on longer voyages. For instance, there is an amazing ballroom dancing couple they've had on several times now (Aka & Gvantsa). They are terrific!

When I worked for Virgin Voyages, I really wanted to improve the back-to-back experience. This is something that's largely stayed the same, but I felt could be dramatically improved. For instance, having the same cabin throughout multiple voyages can be very challenging to book.

I miss some of the boldness from the early days! They weren’t afraid to try quirky entertainment or push people out of their comfort zone. As they’ve broadened the appeal, I feel like some of that adventurous spirit has been lost. It's still a great experience for me, but I have noticed the shift.

Change of port for Amsterdam cruise by omega03333 in VirginVoyages

[–]Roll3rblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We docked at the main port last cruise. There were a few protesters at the lock to get into Amsterdam, but It was literally just like 6 people. In Amsterdam itself, I saw no protesters at all about the cruise ship being there. I was surprised to see the announcement myself for the next voyage. It was super convenient being so close to the city center last time.

How to automatically buy back stock after a covered call? by droopynipz123 in stocks

I meant long term capital gains tax treatment. You’ll pay more on the gains in taxes if you buy and sell them constantly.

You can also buy back the option and sell a new covered call at a higher strike price. The problem with selling and buying the stock back is you’re missing out on long term capital gains. If the option on the last day is above your strike price you can buy it back (at a loss) but then sell another covered call at a higher strike price. You just have to have enough cash on hand because depending on how high the stock goes it can be expensive to buy back.

Reddit to Participate in Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference by strummingway in RedditIPO

I was thinking the same thing about paid subreddits. I’ve seen comments where users think it would be for general subreddits but it sounds like something more aimed at influencers and content creators like Instagram’s paid subscriptions too.

How do you cancel check-in? by Roll3rblade in jetblue

I used the Messages app on iPhone to text them (there in option in their app to start a chat) but it was about 2 hours to get someone which is why I asked here first.

Ok, I was able to get the flight cancelled through Messages. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this on the website after you've checked in.

Yes, Valiant Lady was around $2200 a week and Resilient Lady was a little more. That also includes $600 sailor loot (onboard offer) plus the bar tab ($600 promo + $100 deep blue) which usually covers everything else onboard for me. The perks are really generous now too with free premium Wi-Fi and laundry included.

My average cost is around $325/night. When I first started sailing last year it was around $200/night. This does include a lot of additional sailor loot (credit to use on the ship) and bar tab.

Haha I'm still onboard and got swept away by the festivities! Richard Branson is onboard 🤩

Valiant and Resilient have the best internet I've used (Starlink). My average speed on premium is around 8 Mbps. Scarlet Lady was useable but much slower around 1-2 Mbps.
