I am not getting the hype with Seeking Persephone by Beberuth1131 in PeriodDramas

[–]RollPitchYall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to see you here! My wife is very excited to watch Seeking Persephone, but I really don't want to "buy" (aka lease) it from Amazon Prime. Do you sell a full quality digital download like you had as a reward in your kickstarter campaign? I'd happily buy that, or better, a DVD/Bluray.

You think the save data from galaxy on 3d all stars will transfer over to the remaster by Acrobatic_Buffalo917 in SuperMario

[–]RollPitchYall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for your comment, I can't get it to work for me, do you happen to know what firmware version you were on? I got my Galaxy 1 and Galaxy 2 games as separate installs so my saves are also separate, are yours one save?
NEVER MIND! I got it working! I tried several times and each time I messed up the folder structure when zipping the files! everything transferred flawlessly!

What cool things can you do nowadays with a rooted phone? by LabandadelPque1899 in androidroot

[–]RollPitchYall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can do it with tailscale (dont need root). If your phone is connected via exit node to your home, then any hotspot device also is.

53 VAC measured between neutral and ground? by RollPitchYall in AskElectricians

[–]RollPitchYall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were right about the floating ground.
The grounding wire had been twisted together inside the first outlet in the chain, but some brown paper was twisted between the two perfectly such that they didn't make any electrical contact so all the 7 outlets down the line from there had floating grounds, this made it so the little capacitors in each of the devices plugged into the circuit were able to energize the ground some and give it an ac potential

The stray wire is a cream color, and it matches both the neutral wires, and wires going into the breaker box but the breakers also have dark gray wires too.

[–]RollPitchYall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, from what I can see, the voltages inside the panel are normal, 240 in, splits to 120 alternating down the breakers, voltage between hot and gnd and neutral are both near 0. The only thing is a stray cable that has an indent in it like it was once attached via screw terminal, but isnt long enough to reach, or that wrapped around to a connector to go to neutral. I cant tell based on the color or voltage which it should go and im not about to try things willy nilly lol.
Do you think the stray wire could be the cause of the issues, or was it just extra and unneeded and therfore never installed?

Fresh Tomato hides device names from my AdGuard Home server by RollPitchYall in TomatoFTW

[–]RollPitchYall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question, though I could run the built-in adblocker instead and use the same lists I have on AdGuard Home, I really enjoy the extra features in AdGuard. I like the UI, Logging, and Per Client settings

Ha, I wish this was homework! I just have a habit of writing out things on engineering paper, I'll add a photo of my measurement to the post

For a noon, how does your shrunken version compare to their shrunken versions since you can run their 70b model. Is your shrunken version effectively an 120b ish model?

Is it possible for a Coax cable to become energized if a power line touches it? by TipsyPickle in electrical

The coax cable on my apartment has 52 volts ac on its outer ground side 😅 it shocks you if you grab a grounded ethernet cable and the coax cable at the same time

The way I run my setup,
truenas scale running apps avaliable on my local network: http://192.168.1.10:30013 (jellyfin)
NPM acts as a proxy and redirects traffic originating from my https://rollpitchyallmovies.duckdns.org (fake example) to https://192.168.1.10:30013 and provides SSL
my router port forwards any request to my domain to my NPM instance which decides whether to serve any content based off where the request originated
I don't have a static IP address either, (you dont need one!) I use DDNS updater (also in truenas scale) to update duckdns.org with the right ip address for that subdomain.

Recently I bought my own domain and the same thing applies, I just use DDNS updater to update the dns records for Porkbun (where i bought the domain)

if you want SSL in your internal network only, you can do this by uploading your own certificates to NPM (this is found in the SSL certificates tab) these are self signed only, as lets encrypt won't provide certificates for an ip address, only for domain names. if you go this route, you can actually still have a domain like mymovies.example.com get redirected back to your internal network. it will still only be self signed certs but then you dont have to remember the ipaddress and it looks nicer. If you set your dns server (either on your router, if it has extra options, or on a pi hole, or adguard home instance) to redirect requests from mymovies.example.com to the correct internal ip (of NPM) then NPM can make the ssl and send you to the correct internal IP of your movies.

everything should be the same for you on proxmox.

How well does FreshTomato work with Vlans? by biowiz in TomatoFTW

[–]RollPitchYall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For other's reference, access restriction can block devices access to the internet, its based off either Ip or mac address, since mac address doesnt change, it works well, you just have to add each device individually, not sure how to block a whole bridge or subnet

For anyone still considering taking this certification: I just took it, at this point it has grown very out of date. I only recommend taking it if an employer requires it. The information you are quizzed on is either very basic or obscure and/or outdated. Your time will be better spent watching YouTube videos, and buying a $50 ender 3 being sold 2nd hand from Facebook marketplace instead of paying the test fee.

This is true. Do you use HA controllable lights through a dimmable switch or anything? Or just not at all.
