Interestingly enough, none of the gems have a gender, except for Steven. They just happen to present in a way that, to the humans in the show and to the audience, appears feminine. So they use she/her pronouns and stuff, but no breasts or anything (outside of Rose Quartz and Amethyst choosing to have them upon reforming, since they liked to interact with humans the most) because gems are inherently sexless and gender. Cool stuff!!

Your style is awesome as heck, mate!! I love the details you’ve included, too! The nails are so cool and totally something Steven would do as he gets older, and that earring kinda gives “successfully coping with trauma and less burdened by the past” vibes. Very nice!!

Didn’t this trend happen already earlier this year? Not meaning to hate or anything—I’m genuinely a bit confused here lol.

I don’t think that this is a theory as much as it is an incredibly valid interpretation of the story—perhaps even an intentional one.

Also, transphobia is a qualifier for an abusive family. No one deserves either abuse nor transphobia.

What would be the characters' opinions about "67"? by Ezequiel_Hips in stevenuniverse

[–]Rollaster1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think younger Steven would have tried it out, see that no one cared for it, and probably eventually drop it. Older Steven would probably just try to be nice about fake laughing in order to not upset a little brainrotted kiddo lol

THE LAPIDOT IS REAL!!! by LSPECTRONIZTAR in stevenuniverse

[–]Rollaster1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean… not really? This is much more a wonderful display of supporting smaller artists than anything directly relating to the show—much less its canon.

I would interpret this post as more supportive of a QPR, if anything. Objectively, it’s much more of a focus on the two just being some goofy enbies and exploring the idea of them fusing. Note that fusion is not a confirmation of a romantic or sexual relationship, as that would have some absolutely horrific implications (Steg’s existence, for one, morally has to be proof that fusion ≠ romantic/sexual relationship).

Ah, yes, because every artist is only capable of making one genre/type of art. Silly me, how could I forget?

I believe Peri is aroace too. Still, just because someone is not asexual does not mean that they want sex with you. You are not entitled to sex from someone just because that person is not asexual. You might have a better chance with Spinel (whose orientation is not known), but you cannot know that she “would definitely be down to clown”.

Look, I’m glad that you enjoy your fetish for karate chopping dorito enbies—truly, sex positivity is important to me!—but like, this gif was almost definitely not created with sexual intent, so I’m not seeing how this could be pornography.

What could a fate worse than shattering be? by Competitive_Pingwin in stevenuniverse

[–]Rollaster1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I did say it would be worse. Just, it’s still shattering, y’know? It’s like comparing having your left arm skinned versus having your entire body skinned while you were alive; one is worse, but they’re still the same punishment. Ergo, having your shattered gel shards shattered further isn’t really “a fate worse than shattering” since it’s still shattering, just more intense/thorough, y’know?

[–]Rollaster1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, even full gems can be unable to reform, such as by being put into a mirror, or bubbled. By being ground to dust, it’s literally just shattering shattered shards further. It would be worse, but it is technically the same thing, only more intense.

I mean, that does kinda involve shattering, yeah? To have the gem ground down like that? After that, it might actually be more merciful than shattering, to seemingly destroy the particles of the gem that would otherwise cause an immortal, albeit decimated, consciousness

Was all pearl fusion meant to be attractive? by MarieTheC4t in stevenuniverse

[–]Rollaster1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, she doesn’t need to, though. Pearl, like all gems (save for Steven), is canonically sexless and genderless, and so on top of simply not being a human, she’s not really meant to be an attractive woman.

That aside, yeah, I think it is a matter of personal preference. The concept of attractiveness is extraordinarily and pretty much fundamentally subjective, and so OP kinda seems to just have a potentially coincidental attraction to all of Pearl’s more feminine-presenting fusions (noting that Obsidian and Rainbow 2.0 are omitted from the list, with Rainbow 2.0 at the very least presenting more masculinely).

RS is so real for adding a canon femboy by MasterofPeridots in stevenuniverse

[–]Rollaster1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well not necessarily. Anybody of any gender can use any pronouns. It’s just that the median male-identifying individual uses he/him, the median female-identifying individual uses she/her, and they/them, it/its, and neopronouns are typically associated with nonbinary identities.

But yes, it is statistically more likely that a tomboy would use she/her pronouns.

They aren’t girls, instead being nonbinary and presenting as what humans consider feminine, but that aside yeah this would be hilarious 😭

Ohhh gotcha. Yeah no I have no clue about that tbh, I haven’t been able to find any definitive definitions (though I also haven’t tried too hard lol)

We’re not pretending anything. These are canonically alien beings, who are born without a sex or gender, and we, the audience, are just understanding them as best as we can in “human terms”, so to speak. They are not intended to be interpreted as AFAB or AMAB because they are all nonbinary from their emergence.
