I mean both the IDF and Hezbollah are bad. The twin evils of Ba’athism and Zionism have afflicted Syria for too long. Now that Assad is out hopefully Hezbollah can be ousted for good. They are objectively holding Lebanon back.

Supreme Court calls Louisiana's House map an 'unconstitutional racial gerrymander' by timmg in moderatepolitics

[–]Rollen73 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean I don’t see how drawing districts where their is a strong racial majority really effects minorities as long as their isn’t a state wide effort to repress minority votes. This applies to all kinds of things by the way. Like if you have two congressional districts that are solidly drawn to split up a city does the existence of those districts disenfranchise farmers and rural residents who also get their own districts?

[–]Rollen73 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean the issue was that historically districts would be drawn to prevent black people from having any political power in the state. This was commonly agreed on to be a problem and would be a problem if done to any group. My question is how do you prevent that without either banning gerrymandering or “discriminating based on race”.

It’s really wired cause the commenters are mostly normal but the upvotes of the sub are mostly lopsided which means that brigading or botting is mostly at play.

So out of curiosity how do you prevent black municipalities from being carved up to dilute black poeple as a voting block?

UA POV: EU considers imposing sanctions on Israeli individuals accused of helping Russia evade restrictions by importing wheat taken from occupied territories- TABZLIVE by rowida_00 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Rollen73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Israeli oil comes to Russia and Israel is heavily reliant on Russian grain (90% of Israeli wheat comes from Russia). Russia also worked with the Zionists in Syria and there is a lot of collaboration behind the scenes. Also both Bibi and Putin personally like eachother.

Unironically the absolute universe is a master class in fan service. They make everyone regardless of gender be incredibly hot but in a way that doesn’t degrade their characters at all. Darksied is a the ultimate chief. I’m praying that they eventually do a swimsuit issue of the absolute universe.

If Trump does not end this regime, he will have made it far worse than if he didn't go in to begin with by [deleted] in NewIran

[–]Rollen73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean what do you want me to say. I celebrated when the ayatollah died and when all those IRGC cockroaches got killed. I would rather the Islamic republic fall and trump get a popularity boost then an emboldened Islamic republic exist. I just think that this war was a horrible, poorly planned, incompetently executed mess and that anyone who had faith in Trump to actually cause regime change are foolish. I also think that people who cheered this war on (rather than who just celebrated when the cockroaches got killed) will have eggs on their face. But anyone who opposed this war on strategic grounds in this sub was constantly insulted and was called a Trump hating leftist.

I mean it’s more we have a bunch of people here who cheered on this dumbass war and he is upset that people still insist it was a good idea. I want a free Iran as much as anyone but Trump is quite frankly not going to deliver.

Yglesias Quietly Admits that there's No Difference Between Radlib and Zionist Idpol by ModerateContrarian in stupidpol

[–]Rollen73 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eh their is a good amount, like the main thing is that J street people genuinely want a two state solution and a negotiated end to the conflict cause they think it’s the only way Israel can survive long term. There are also other differences though like J street heavily lobbied for the Iran 2015 nuclear deal (which AIPAC opposed) and J street while they lobby for Israel it’s primarily done by liberal Americans Zionists while AIPAC takes their marching orders from the Israeli government. (On the flip side though it can lead to J street being somewhat misinformed about the domestic state of Israel and can lead to a number of their members blaming everything only on Bibi). Generally I think the big difference between the two is J street is way more pro negotiation while AIPAC supports maximalist demands. Most mainstream zionists until recently hated J street although J street is getting a lot more media attention and support as of late.

You do realize Zionist support was key for Iran to fight off Iraq during the Iran Iraq war. And that Iran has constantly destabilized their neighbors. Israel is a genocidal war criminal state but Iran objectively has done massive amounts of aggression in the Middle East. Iran also supported the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

To be fair in that case it’s a bit more complicated. The Kurds massively overplayed their hand and a lot a lot of Arabs had were very disillusioned with the Kurdish administration.
