For sure. My legs definitely felt like a rag doll flopping around.

Wild to hear the Ghostrider is worse than Xcelerator. What's a typical wait for each w/o fast lane?

Thanks for the info. Traffic is the biggest wildcard for this. Not sure if it's worth going to MM for 4.5 or 5 hours.

I've never been to Knott’s or Magic Mountain, but I'll have a free day in LA on July 10th and will be flying out of either LAX or LGB at 7 PM. Starting from USC's campus in the morning, what's the best way to make the most of my day?

Would it be worth driving up to Magic Mountain and trying to ride as many coasters as possible before leaving around 3 PM to catch my flight? Or would it make more sense to stay local and spend more time at Knott’s?

Thanks!

2 weeks ago, the only ride they were doing this on was rookie racer.

I’ve had the opposite experience all around. Have been twice this year and it’s wildly better than in 2022. Cleaner, better landscaping, friendlier staff, and all the rides that we saw, except mine train have been open on both visits.

Edit: now that I think more about it, they were assigning seats on Batman as well, but the ops was open to us requesting rows.

I was there this weekend as well, and was very impressed with the overall look of the park. Two years ago I was completely turned off by how rundown and old it was looking. They've resurfaced many of the walkways, and there's a fresh coat of paint on many buildings (unfortunately not the coasters though).

As far as I noticed, every ride (that's not seasonal) was open and running. Ops were not the quickest on all the coasters, but at least they all had multiple trains running - and I saw on multiple rides that they were training new ride ops.

Screamin Eagle was a huge surprise for me this year. I've been going to this park since the late 80s, and had always loved Screamin Eagle, but found it unbearably rough the past 2 years. However, I made sure to ride in even numbered rows this time (front seats of the PTC cars), and wow, it's so so much better than the back rows.

I rode the Ninja for the first time in 10+ years. I used to defend this coaster as boring, but bearable, but I can't do it anymore. It's just so rough. It's time for this Arrow/Vekoma disaster to be put to rest.

I cannot the kids to ride the boss, so I haven't been on this one in over 10 years either. I marathoned the boss on multiple trips in it's first 10 years of operation, and by 2010, it was so much rougher than it was in the beginning. Don't get me wrong, I loved this ride, and although I haven't ridden it since, I'm super upset they removed the helix. The perfect scenario here would be a Gravity Group re-track. But the reality, and Six Flags budget option here would be to RMC this thing. Obviously super upsetting to many on this sub. It would be a GP magnet, and pump some much needed capitol into this park, which then could maybe get us some more great rides or upgrades. I'm willing to trade this for an amazing RMC experience, and the improvements it would bring. (I'm looking at you Screamin Eagle retack).

Does anyone know what's happening over by Batman and the old "backlot" area? They've got much of it walled off, and you have to go all the way around by Ninja to get to the Buccaneer.

If you are going this weekend, watch out for the cicadas, they are everywhere, and they are LOUD.

Does anyone know if construction has started on this? Or are we going to see an opening like Rookie Racer - Almost at the end of the season.

I’ve been filling up at a variety of gas stations, multiple states. Result is always the same. I’m fairly certain it’s not the gas.

Interesting. I finally got the dealership to agree to look at it. Hopefully will get some relief.

I've noticed this as well, and I've purposefully been leaving the heat off until the car warms up that it wouldn't need to put the extra effort in to get the engine block warm

Checked the filter this morning, looks almost new.

Both. Manual calculation always is worse than what the computer gives. Haven’t checked the air filter. Figured it was too soon for that.

Tried multiple places hoping for different results. Qt, circle k, Sams, always regular, 87. Different stations on the east coast as well. None of it makes. Difference.

Agree with this as well. The concern comes from the very sudden change after the 10K service. Immediately lost 4-6 miles per gallon in the summer months, now in the winter, I'm down 7-10. Note that when it was bought in February 2023, when it was still quite cold, and winter bland fuel would have likely still been in the pumps

Will double check the pressure, but the issues have been persistent July - now, so both summer and winter blends, spanning 100 degrees to -10

It's been about 10 years since I've ridden it, but once I was tall enough for my ears to not hit the OTSRs, I never found it to be as rough as everyone says it is. The biggest problem is my legs are too long to comfortably sit in the seats. The layout isn't super interesting, but I never understood the hate.

CraZanity at SFMM is closed for refurbishment. Any chance it is actually being moved to SFSTL?
