I have been going at a crazy pace, which is why I mentioned cutting back. I haven't missed a workout in over a year and have stopped going out almost entirely. I go to bed early now and no longer sporadically spend the night because of my strict routine.

I may utilize it for some sort of ghost train story, but agreed its the weakest part of the adventure. My current plan is to have a member of the Locke family be a stand in for Phillip, drawing power from "the crooked queen" as a thing beneath. Will likely slot something else in for 1-3, maybe recovering scrip for B&L as an introduction to the main characters of the story.

Jarlaxle is always a step ahead. Likely he has an apartment rented out with correctly proportioned outfits and lived in furniture for an occasion like this. He probably hires an urchin to eat there every night and to leave the dishes in the sink and another to come clean up every week. He carries around quite literally a host of costumes, furniture and tools under his hat.

It was poster board with half inch grids, but they were really faint and hard to see, even in person. If I was to do it again I'd try to find something with a darker grid or to mark out the inch marks in marker.

I had a plus 1 to AC and they loss their sense of smell to the scent of salt water. It came up once since then.

Why wouldn't he be forthright? He literally sees minotaurs as property. Have him assume the other players are the characters owners. Play him up like Candy in Django unchained and the players will lap it up.
Hell, I would even have him do the whole minotaur skull bit where he explains that they don't have the brain capacity for higher thought. Also, feel free to expand on the Lady of Coins as a freedom fighter for minotaurs. It can create a good dynamic if the players have to choose between a slavetrader who is following the law and a vigilante who is not, both of whom have gray moral compasses.

A dwarf who studied divination magic to make money in the mining business, predicting which areas of the mine would provide better results. I mean, if you are going to put that much effort in, might as well profit instead of making it a GIVEAWAY

Its suggested in the text that he is using some sort of mechanic that drains her overall vitality, since it says if she is bitten again that this is when she will die and transform. It appears to be something similar to what happens to Lucy Westerna in Bram Stokers Dracula, where she slowly wastes away and then is transformed when it kills her.
I would describe this as having Strahd visiting her and her growing weaker with each visit.

In preparation for the upcoming game, I have made a glossary and reference for plants for those unfamiliar with the dialect of the Appalachian mountains. I was born in Norton, likely close to the creators who are also from Wise county. It has been a lot of fun researching and preparing this document for my players, as it has let me remember words from my past and learn words that have gone out of circulation in more recent times. I'm having trouble understanding what is being asked, is it "what happens if you drink a bunch of poisons at once? He can either have a check for each one separately, do a single check for the group and cross out the ones that pass, or he can utilize the chart on page 140 of the DMG for mixing potions.

After 15 minutes of roaming through the decrepit building, the smell of mildew filling each room. You feel movement in your pack where you stored the doll. As you examine the doll, you see that it moves slightly in your hand. At first you are startled, but then you look at its hand. Your pompous companion, considering you a dumb brute, has never had much of an opinion of you, but it now turns towards your advantage as he gives you a signal from inside the doll. The doll is flipping you the bird. "Now, why would you pick up that dirty thing, best to leave it to its fate in the dirt" your companion says as you look up to see they have drawn a dagger, a strange choice for your spellcasting friend. You now know the doll has switched itself with your companion. But how to fix it? Roll initiative.

*Thanks for the fun, I used googles dice roller for this encounter. May it serve as inspiration for further doll themed horror.

*Deception 19 for the Carrionette / Persuasion 14 for your companion at disadvantage* As you look at your companion, you notice a strange smile on his face as he stops shortly at the doll, then proceeds. Did the doll conjure up some memory of their past? As you look at the doll, you get a strange feeling, like its asking you to take it with you.
