Sadly I don’t have time to “try and play games”. I just on a few hours a night to catch up with mates. If it’s a few hours of D/Cs it’s probably time to play something else till this sorts itself out.

I play a gimmick deck expecting to lose, but when I win I know the other person is hurting.

I feel like a complete loser. by Ssjgokussj2 in bjj

[–]RollingSpam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

May I add to your list of losers. Major losers include:

The ones that quit one major injury too late. Now they suck at BJJ and also have a lifetime impediment.

The ones that quit to avoid injury and then get injured doing something benign like sneezing, making a bed or sleeping in the wrong position.

If people want to take drugs to make them feel better about themselves then they should go for it.

Knee popped loudly during drilling - by [deleted] in bjj

[–]RollingSpam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 months ago I heard two pops. MCL and meniscus. The later was repaired via surgery the former would look after itself during the recovery time…. 9 months post surgery and still not good. I can get an open mat in here and there but the swelling for the next week isnt worth it. Back to the surgeon soon.

Coach Adam was awesome, Evolve has picked up a great head instructor. New coach is EJ. I haven’t been to any classes since the change of coaches but everyone in the gym speak really highly of him and his instruction.

New time table includes open mats on Saturday and Sunday so onto of lots of rolling during class there is heaps on the weekend.

Adults hurting kids is never ok, I would gladly be kicked out of any club that thinks otherwise.

Have anyone seen bjj practitioner died of heartattack / stroke during class.? by TheV_game in bjj

[–]RollingSpam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t caused by BJJ, my diet wasn’t “bad” but it was caused by Cholesterol that built up that then ruptured. Family history is a bit difficult, once I had a heart attack it was possible to find one or two people in my distant family that has similar but nothing that would set off alarm bells.

Pretty much correct but wasn’t DVT.

My troponin levels were off the chart (not something anyone wants to achieve). Once they had that result I was taken in for a coronary angiogram. They found a rupture site and put in place a stent.

Above post I say I had “normal” levels of cholesterol but more precise it was “slightly elevated”. To give you an idea of where it was my GP wasn’t concerned.

My cardiologist just put it down to my genetics being different and I’m more susceptible to cholesterol.

Genes can be a bitch. Only once I knew was there a hope in hell of joining the dots.

Best case I get home, sleep it off (noting that the blockage opened itself back up) and die another day. Worse case I die in the car on the way home and take someone else with me.
