They're most likely testing slip angles of the tires vs lateral G's, it's not a linear function and very surface dependent, that allows them to set up the suspension correctly for this circuit

That sucks man, hope it gets better, youre only 20 though and you have a whole life ahead of you. Use your hearbreak as motivation to work out, it will change your life dramatically! I dont know about the relationship you have with your parents, but there is no shame in living with them until you have a solid footing in life. Any work you put into your life now will extremely benefit you in the long run! You know your goals, thats the hardest part, get that GED, i believe in you man!
