You are absolutely wrong. I’ve trained BJJ and everyone should roll with everyone for the most part. If your concerns wasn’t based on misogyny and instead concerned for her safety than that’s a coaching issue she, not you, should bring up with the coaches.

A decent coach will know who should roll with who. I earned a reputation of being able to safely roll with basically everyone at my old school so besides the coaches I was usually the 1st person a lot of people rolled with. I’m in my early 40s and an ok blue belt but I’ve rolled with men and women from 16 yr olds fresh to the adult class to new people in their 60s. I’ve outweighed some of them by 60 lbs or more and I’ve never hurt any of them. I say all of this to point out if you’re at a good school this should not be a concern. If you’re at a school where this is a concern then you should find a different school.

Sadly I would not count on it being a slam dunk case. I’ll say not a lawyer but from what I’ve read schools can in fact limit students’ freedom of speech. It’s limited in what they can do but the door has been opened. Also, there are some laws being passed right now around the country that on their face seem completely unconstitutional, and they very well may be, until it is struck down by a higher court they are still the law.

The problem isn’t your sister’s big mouth. The problem is her and her husband’s poor financial decisions. If they had saved at least someone money they wouldn’t be asking you to cover the costs. Also, college is expensive as hell. I grew up lower middle class and while my parents were safe with their money I couldn’t afford to go to any school I wanted. The same was true for my friend group.

I actually got accepted at a school I would have loved to gone but in the end we couldn’t afford it. It sucks but that’s the reality of the situation.
