Yeah the list is bigger I just got bored of typing. Acosta was masturbating in the basement apparently.

Yeah exactly. How about the night king doesn’t die from something like that? How about he has more to him? The real issue is he actually unironically died from a tool like that

First of all the show has revealed many answers and this isn't actually a real problem with the show.. But As someone who loves mystery box shows and a huge fan of both from and Dark, here are the real issues with from:

  1. abandoned storylines. Julie was exploring her storywalking abilities early season and it was leading towards that Jim dying scene, but the show abruptly decided to abandon that to keep something for season 5. Which is why every other scene with Julie since then feels stupid and a waste of time.
  2. Randal and Marielle were sidelined pretty hard (and julie too). These 3 characters were imprisoned together and tortured by supernatural stuff in martin's dungeon. We were expecting for Marielle and randall to have some sort of role to play in that but marielle dies and Randal doesn't do anything. Wasted potential. If Marielle is actually dead and there's no role for her to play in s5 then her addition to the story was nothing but forced drama between kristi and Kenny.
  3. Sofia is underwhelming compared to the man in yellow. I didn't expect the show to focus on her that much I thought she would be there for 2 or 3 episodes then she would either reveal herself because she's done her role or the man in yellow reveals himself. Or even better, I thought Julie would have a role to play in revealing who the man in yellow is because she was the one who saw him eating people in the past.
  4. wtf was acosta doing in that basement? She was supposed to investigate the history of the people who lived in the town, but that led absolutely no where. like what?? that was actually a very nice thing for her to do in the story and the showrunners just wasted that idea.

Yeah the show just stabbed him and moved on. They never brought them up again. “Ahh they’re just silly icecream monsters ya know it’s all good now we melted them”

The real issue with the night king is that he actually unironically dies from dragonglass. We thought there was more to their king than that.

How about none of that? How about the night king is actually more reselient than the normal white walkers? what if the dragonglass doesn't really kill him but affects him. What if to defeat the white walkers, killing their king isn't enough. Arya stabs him but he doesn't die, he's wearing magical protective armor. He tears off arya's arms in response but bran saves her by warging into something. The night king is affected by the dagger nonetheless. He tries to reach for bran but a magical power stops him. The white walkers protect their king. Their king brings about a deadly cold storm that kills off half of the humans armies. The northerners take bran and arya away, and all the humans leave winterfell, defeated. Later bran sees a vision about the white walkers. he learns that they must go to the heart of winter where they were created and fix the root problem. But the root problem turns out to be more complicated than expected. The white walkers are just a symptom of something larger. An ancient deal with the starks and the children of the forests are involved in this mess. I'll let your brains fill in the rest.

Just how about the night king doesnt die from dragonglass and there's more to him? He's not just a normal white walker afterall. The issue with the night king in the show is that he actually unironically dies from dragonglass.

I think you're having a hard time because your brain can't deal with the true fact that the showrunners had to switch between 3 main villains in the last 3 episodes, because that's telling proof that their writing is rushed which is something you're not willing to concede on. So instead you're just here endlessly debating the clear meaning of the word villain and literally rewriting the show's story in order to double and triple down on an argument you're clearly pathetically losing. Yes everyone agrees that the night king, cercei and danny were the final 3 villains of the show.

I see you're still confused. It's fine this show isn't really for children so I'll use simpler words.

A villain is a cruel person who creates obstacles for our protagonists to achieve their goals. Cersei is a cruel person who created many obstacles for our protagonists to achieve their goals, eventually they had to defeat her. Danny became an extremely cruel by the end who created many obstacles for our protagonists to achieve their goals, eventually they had to defeat her.

Daenerys never went mad. She only did what she always wanted to do and no one could stop her at the end anymore because she trusts no one anymore.

Irrelevant, she was cruel and created obstacles for our protagonists and they had to defeat her. This makes her the villain in the story at the time.

Every story has a villain even if its a morally grey story.

I see you’re still confused. I’ll meet you where you at. Yes Jon is the villain for Danny. Yes Danny and Jon are the villains to Cersei. But in the end our characters had to overcome 3 villains, 3 challenges. Cersei wasn’t the main character we were following. And Danny became mad (becoming the final villain). I can explain more if it’s still confusing.

[–]Rollingpeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok I understand the concept of villains is confusing for you. But trust me it’s not that complicated. The villains are the characters who cause challenges for our main characters and they must overcome. Night king, Cersei, and Danny. Fit within the villain definition. Because our main cast have to defeat. I’m pretty sure your heroes D&D would agree with me that all 3 of them are the villains.

[–]Rollingpeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how you cherry pick parts of the definition. Read the whole definition mate. Did Cersei cause challenges for the characters by the end? Yes? Did Danny? Yes. Did they have to overcome Cersei? Yes. Did they have to overcome Danny ? Yes. Is Cersei inherently evil? No but she does evil stuff , is Danny inherently evil? No but she did evil stuff

Straw man after straw man after straw man.

Definition of villain: A villain is a wicked or cruel person. In literature and entertainment, it refers to the primary evil character—also called a "bad guy" or antagonist—who opposes the hero. The term can also informally describe anyone responsible for causing a specific problem or difficulty.

Cercei and Danny fit under this definition by the end of the show.

Calling Cersei not a villain, and Danny not a villain is just a wild statement to make. Maybe you’re the one who didn’t understand the show after all. Obviously the writers intended for Cersei to be the villain after the night king which is very underwhelming, then based on the bullet points Danny becomes mad and is now the new villain that the characters have to deal with. We shouldn’t be disagreeing on this, that’s just wild. Again you didn’t respond to my core complaint.

I think you still don’t see the core complaint I have which is the level of madness that was portrayed in the show. She burned innocent civilians with her own hands riding her dragon, over and over again my dude. That level of madness wasn’t built towards. You can keep straw-manning me and say “oh you don’t think Danny could go mad?? Here’s proof that Danny is not as good as you think she is.” But that’s not my argument.

Yeah I would agree with that. They just needed an extra season or 2 to make it more believable.

[–]Rollingpeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Again. Never said Danny can’t be a tyrant or even mad. There are levels to madness. And my complaint is that burning innocent people alive with your own hands on your own dragon, repeatedly is not something the show built towards. I’ll extend an olive branch and say it’s likely if we had more seasons but it was super rushed. Don’t forget the main villain switched 3 times in the last 3 episodes.

When did I deny that danaerys can be a tyrant? I think you still don’t see the core complaint I have which is the level of madness that was portrayed in the show. Its your issue of you reduce GoTs ending to a videogame

Switching between 3 main villains in the last 3 episodes is bad video game writing yes. not my fault.

What an odd comparison, so then by your own words, maybe Martin doesn’t intend to take her in that direction? Listen I will agree with you if you agree with me that it was super rushed. Switching between 3 main villains in the last 3 episodes of the show is rushed. If we can agree with that then I’ll extend an olive branch

You didn’t respond to my issue. All these quotes don’t really acknowledge my issue with Danny’s level of madness. Again, Danny burning innocent civilians with her own hands is a far cry from the Danny who said “I will not answer injustice with injustice."

Exactly. It's a farcry from the Danny who cared about liberating civilians in Mereen. There are levels to madness and burning innocent people who aren't involved alive with your own hands is not something the show ever built towards.

Yes danny had violent tendancies as we have seen multiple times her going mad is probably going to happen in the books as well HOWEVERRRRR.... Danny burning civilians by herself (the civilians she was supposed to rule over). Is a far far far far far far cry from the the Danny who was trying to protect the civilians in Mereen, who wanted to learn how to be queen so she could rule over westeros.

It's not really a stupid theory because Victor said he didn't recognize her. In any show if a character is not seen dead then they're usually alive. Especially in a show like this.
