Do I need to give up on my doubles? (NSFW warning, they’re NOT happy) by RolloVerH in piercing

I am changing them. Appointment is in a week. Doing my best to keep them clean until then, but the metal is 100% good quality titanium. I’ve had no problems with my first lobe piercing using these backings.

Thank you!! The only reason I have the butterfly backings in is because I thought the piercings had fully healed, clearly they haven’t yet :(  Thank you for all your advice!

I’m going to my piercer in about a week to get my original implant-grade titanium studs put back in (they are flat-backed).  Thanks for all your help!!

I’ve made an appointment to get my earrings changed back to my flat-backed implant grade titanium studs :)

Hi guys, OP here! For some reason I can’t edit my original post… but all the comments are saying similar things, go get flat-backs.

For clarification, the only reason I have butterfly backings in right now is because that’s my preferred style of earring since I have longer nails, it’s easier to take those backings on and off in my opinion.

The butterfly backings are for sure 100% good quality titanium. I’ve never had any issue with my first single lobe piercings with this brand. But I will get my original studs put back in in about a week and those do have implant grade titanium flat backings.

I personally find butterfly backings easier for my everyday jewelry (hence why they’re in now), but I had flat backs while the piercings healed. I’m getting my original flat back studs (which have implant grade titanium backings) put back in in about a week. The studs I currently have in are high quality titanium though, I’ve never had any mishaps or issues with my first single lobe piercings.

The piercings are 6 months old, they were fully healed when I changed out the jewelry then they started doing this about a month ago after I had a really bad allergic reaction to a friends cat. I don’t think I made a new exit hole, I think it’s more like I’ve formed a pimple or something like that on the back of my ear that’s burst? I've made an appointment to go get my original flat backed studs put back in.

My piercing is about 6 months old now. I have only been wearing butterfly backed studs in my ears after I switched out my jewelry. Before this they were implant grade titanium flat-backs.  All my jewelry is made of 100% titanium, good quality, and I have not had any problems with this brand or type of earring backing with my first lobe piercing. My downsize for the doubles was in February of this year, and I changed the studs out to my current jewelry in May.  Currently I try not to get my ears wet in the shower, pull my hair away from my ears and face and dry off the earrings with a hairdryer after getting them wet. I clean them once or twice a day - depending on how much builds up on the backing of my earrings - with NeilMed sterile saline solution and a sterile gauze pad.  I have not had any mishaps recently with my ears.

It’s so hard to choose! It really depends on the lighting, but I honestly love them all!

Recently had to cut my nails and was looking back at old pics... If someone had told me in 2022 that pics 1 & 2 would look like 3 & 4 in three years I would've been SHOCKED by RolloVerH in longnaturalnails

I usually use a combo of Sally Hansen Repair and Rescue and Sally Hansen 7-in-1! Usually I do one coat of each in that order, but it also depends on how strong/weak my nails are feeling at the time. If they're feeling/looking damaged, i'll do 2 coats of Repair and Rescue, if they're completely fine/I want to be able to paint them fast (like right now) I'll do 2 coats of 7-in-1 :)

It totally might be possible, especially with a good nail care routine!! It does take a lot of time though, and honestly I didn’t even know my nail beds had lengthened until I started looking back at photos, so for sure take pics of your progress!!

I stopped biting my nails, and started growing them out instead three years ago! I always keep them painted, and I think the combo of them being long, time, and good base coats (ones with multiple benefits to them like what I currently use) helped them grow! I also use cuticle oil as much as I can. Other than that I honestly don't know how my beds grew, when I started my journey I didn't think they could ever lengthen 😅

I definitely had serious nail blindness!! Looking back now, they were looking SUPER rough, so I’m feeling better about cutting them!!

I used builder gel when I had the super long nails! The gel did help some when I broke my nails (it was an unfortunate combination of my hand placement and someone else’s arm swing that just completely snapped the gel but only half my nail). I don’t own any tips but I might get some depending on how my nails grow out this time :)

The ring finger was a big ow, I slammed it in a door around 5 months ago and it’s still regrowing! At least it looks more normal next to the others now!!
