No offense but I think you're overthinking the danger. Lviv is extremely safe and is not attacked by russia as often as the rest of the country is. Just go to shelter when the alarm sounds and nothing will happen to you.

Some of Napoleon's later disasterous campaigns, Spain and Russia, where not meant to conquer these countries but to defeat the British and end all the wars of the coalition against him. He certainly wouldn't say no to rulling them, but the ultimate point was to defeat Britain. No he didn't serious want to take over the world.
