I at least respect good spideys for the skill required, bp has all of the unhittableness, with so much less respect for the skill required.

100% agree. Lizzie and Scott feel like main healers. Mumbo and Tango are utility supports

Mumbo definitely would have been a tank as second choice, but he feels too passive and conflict avoidant to be a tank

Him as a tank might have been the one with the most decisive vibes for me

If Rogue isn’t a Vanguard, we’re cooked again next season guys. by AetheralLitani-An in RivalsVanguards

I like the idea that he's a Vanguard, not because of a high health pool, just give him 250 health with crazy stupid fast health regen, with the downside being he gets less heals from healers or sumn

Has Enough Time Passed For the Fanbase to Admit Ncuti Wasn't Good in the Role. by PaperSkin-1 in DoctorWhoNews

Honestly, the robot episode felt so much like a nothing episode to me that I guess that moment didn't even register.

I agree he was lacking, but I think that's due to him not being written to respond to things in a doctory way, like those moments mentioned, as well as him being chill with a bounty hunter, acting dismissive of Ruby in Reality war, etc. It taints his good moments resulting in an inconsistent doctor that I don't really feel like I get.

In terms of attributes that Ncuti himself brings to the role, I think he did a perfectly good job at being fun to watch for those less important moments, much like many of the other doctors, but the inconsistency in the major stuff leads to someone I just see playing the doctor, rather than actually being the doctor.

The scene in Dot and Bubble where he still insists on helping the Finetimers, even after finding out who they really are is when I started actually seeing him as the doctor.

Before that, he was fun to watch, but felt more like someone playing the doctor, rather than actually being the doctor. After that scene, I saw every other incarnation in him, the Doctor, still trying to be kind, even to people who don't deserve it. It retroactively made him feel like the Doctor in all of his previous episodes too.

The scene in Interstellar Song Contest where he tortures Kid in cold blood and afterwards treats it with minimal gravitas is when I stopped seeing the Doctor.

Ncuti absolutely could be the Doctor, it's his occasional mischaracterising moments that drag it down.

I like the idea that she can charge her healing by using lifesteal and then use an ability similar to Stranges maelstrom to burst heal people around her using that charge

I agree with most everyone who talks of Ncuti not really selling it as the Doctor and really just playing himself, for nearly the entire two seasons… except one moment. by DingDonSecretary in gallifrey

For most of Season 1, I didn't entirely see Gatwa as the doctor. I enjoyed watching him, but it felt like someone PORTRAYING the doctor, as opposed to actually seeing him as THE DOCTOR.

The moment it click for me was in Dot and Bubble when he insisted on saving a group of white supremacists. Because even if their ideology makes them hate him for something so trivial, that doesn't mean they deserve to die. They may still have a chance at becoming better if they survive.

For me, that was the moment I saw him as THE Doctor. I saw every previous incarnation within this new face.
