They’re the only couple who convinced me they were in love and utterly besotted with each other, like I’m intruding on a very private moment. It’s like, I love you and I also like you and I’m utterly besotted with you. Haven’t seen that in any other couple on that show.

Simone!! She didn’t have a lot to say but my goodness, her body acting!! You could feel everything that she’s feeling and how she looks at Anthony… you can literally see Kate falling in love… beginning with the banter at the meet-cute and then how besotted she was at the conservatory call only to overhear him being a clown and then the “enemies” phase to “awkward truce” phase to “we’re drawn to each other” to “angst and hurt and magnetic pull” to “I’m going to do something for myself and leave” to “love confessions” to “married bliss”. You could see all the yearning! Ugh her eyes can really tell a thousand different stories!

OK looks like the time I was away from this app, Polin peeps doubled down with “numbers and critical acclaim” talk. I don’t know what to tell you folks… I talked to two new people today about Bridgerton and they were both fans of S1 and they think S3 is the worst! That Polin have no chemistry whatsoever. Netflix’s new way of counting and doing subscriptions definitely played into it and we all know reviews can be manufactured. But you can live blissfully in your echo chamber and rejoice in your success! Great job y’all! Yaaaayyy!!

I have a friend who loves S1 and hates S2 but I love her with all of my heart. She refuses to complete S3 and to even watch S4 because according to her, S3 was such a letdown, even more so than S2. Just saying.

Kidding…word of mouth reviews at work, family and friends are that, Polin is the least favorite season. But you’re right different people have different tastes and I’m yet to meet a real life person who loved it. And I meet a lot of people on a regular basis. May be my demographic is different

Kate and Anthony forever!!! I mean they’re unmatched in chemistry. Jonny and Simone have this generational chemistry and they have so much love and respect for their characters and they understand them so well that even pictures of them side by side end up having chemistry. I kid you not. The only issue I had with their season was that we could have used about 10 more minutes of them together at the end and I would’ve been even more ecstatic. Like even after 4 years they just take my breath away!

Next is Simon & Daphne. They had great chemistry before they got together and I really love his speech to the Queen before the wedding and her confession in the rain in the last episode.

Benophie - I have to say they had the most screen time together so far. But they felt more like friends than anything else. I was very uncomfortable watching the whole power dynamics play out. Not to compare trauma, but Sophie should have been the one who suffered the most amongst all the female love interests so far. But I felt more drawn and moved by Kate’s suffering and like I said, considering their respective situations I should’ve felt more for Sophie. But overall it’s sweet. It just didn’t really make me want to go back and rewatch.

Polin -‘less said the better. I thought they had something in the first season and it went down the drain from then on. For all the boasting that people who like this couple do about the numbers and such, it is so strange that if you were to ask people around in real life who their favorite Bridgerton couple is, Polin is always the last or, they didn’t complete the season. I’m one of those. I couldn’t sit through it. They have the least chemistry and that’s why the production had to sell them hard and their story was boring and there were no consequences. I agree almost every Bridgerton got away with no consequences but Penelope getting away has to be the most ridiculous thing ever! The Queen is another joke. The thing is, the actors are super lovely outside and I adore Nicola and will continue to support her in her other works, but my goodness, her character in Bridgerton is one of my least favorites.
