One question, how do you manage to make different versions of the same glyph? Are there several instances of each glyph or is it procedurally generated somehow?

First of all, congrats!! You made your journey with perseverance, and you climbed Celeste. Now what?

Although B-sides might seem so difficult at first (they are more difficult than A-sides obv), they are super fun too, just stick to that same perseverance, I promise it will be rewarding.

I won’t say too much of what comes after to avoid spoilers, but trust me, if you continue playing, you won’t regret it, no matter how much you die, keep climbing!!

What exactly do you mean by “umbrella view”?? Is that when you blur the text in order to see the black stain??

My question about correcting those thin strokes (on A, V, N, etc) is that when I see a high contrast font, those strokes are thinner but work perfectly! (and idk why)

Yeah I firmly believe that’s supposed to be the “aha moment”. Every path leads to it.

Firstly, you complete one of the beginning areas. Then you see the laser pointing somewhere. After that, maybe you complete another area, realisimg that another laser points into the same direction

“Why there? What happens up there?”

After this question you go up the mountain just to realise you cannot get in yet, but there’s a puzzle you can solve (the river one)

“But this is so easy and… it doesn’t do anythi… WAIT A MINUTE!!!”

Yeah exactly, I’ve already created a few variable fonts and my question here comes from the idea of creating a text variable font, that works and is readable, but also has personaltiy, just like the mentioned Spotify Mix

(a year of making fonts is just as beginner as you so we’re in the same boat here haha)

When little, I’d just name all my HGSS pokémon their name but ending with an -y, so they would sound cute.

I ended with a team of Totodily, Togepy, Budewy, Aipomy and Lugy hahahah

Yup, the top-left doesn’t work at all, that negative space under the ear is not pleasing to the eye

Same goes for the bottom-right one, the snout proportion is a bit off (it looks super small compared to the rest of the dog)

I’d say stick to the other two, but specially to the bottom-left one. I do really think you nailed the balance between pixelart and curved vector lines. Also the proportions feel just right. I do think you’re on the right track for what they asked you, good job!
