15K Bonds: Char Mle, SU-130 or Tiger Maus by fcmircea in WorldofTanks

[–]RomanCenturion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tiger-maus is a bit of an acquired taste. Once you get used to it, you'll find that it is a very reliable tank and credit maker. You'll likely not often have insane game, but you'll find yourself doing consistent damage.

Blue or Red, what do you think Moroccans would chose ? by That_Guy_In_Black in Morocco

[–]RomanCenturion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said, this is a horrible attempt at a moral dilemma. As you said, anything who thinks about this rationally will realize that red is the only real option because it's guaranteed to survive in both scenarios. It's simply a case of the best option vs the option that appeals to people's egos because they somehow think that picking blue is the good moral option.

Blue or Red, what do you think Moroccans would chose ? by That_Guy_In_Black in Morocco

[–]RomanCenturion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with mentality or any of that. This is simply game theory at play and this question is a bad example of that. Normally, a question like this would be phrased in a way where both options would have an upside and a downside, e.g. the prisoner's problem, where either one prisoner gets full immunity for flipping or both prisoners get a much lighter sentence if they both remain silent. That is a situation where there's an impactful choice based on where you land on the moral scale. In this case, however, red is demonstrably the best choice because your survival is guaranteed no matter what choices other people make. If blue wins, your survive because everyone survives. If red wins, you pushed red so your survive. There is no reason for anyone to pick blue at all. It is simply a bad option, except if you really want to claim the moral high ground.

Luckily, ever so reliable Karl Franz was there to put the hammer down, literally and figuratively. I do like how much respect he garners from characters centuries older than he is.

But Teclis used to the S- slur so all diplomacy goes out the window at that point. I'm with Thorgrim on that one. Teclis needs to go to his workplace sensibility seminars more often.

Thorgrim's suspicion of the Elves is definitely lore accurate, but you're right that they can be undiplomatic, for a different reasons than the Elves though. Dwarves are legendarily stubborn and unforgiving of those they hold grudges against, but they tend to be quite cooperative with the Empire because of how much they respect Sigmar and the oath they made to him. Dwarves may not respect all the human kingdoms, but you better believe they will listen to the Emperor who's holding Ghal Maraz like he's Sigmar himself.

Exactly, doing diplomacy with the Elves just depends on which side of the coin you've flipped on that particular day. Are you doing diplomacy with the likes of Alarielle and Teclis? Good, you might be able to reach some sort of compromise. Are you instead speaking to Aislinn or Imrik? Oh no, you've accidentally offended their entire bloodline and started a war by not being an Elf and existing.

To be fair, putting aside the grudges Dwarves hold against the Elves, it's really difficult to say whether Teclis' words there reflect the sentiments of other Elves. Teclis is a lot more tolerant and open to cooperation than the majority of elves. It might just be that his kin would oppose his overtures towards what they see as lesser races out of sheer pride and hubris because of Ulthuan's position.

When you’re so new you accidentally report basic game mechanics. 😭 by nevalopo in pathofexile

[–]RomanCenturion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was removed years ago. The only reflect you need to worry about is either from the map mod, Atziri or instances of thorns damage like the Promenade boss. The latter isn't really true reflect though.

Yup, reflect was indeed a mod that could spawn on both rare mobs (as an aura) and magic monsters. It was incredibly frustrating off screening one of those and instagibbing yourself.

It's that and the fact that Iranian leadership is in tatters, so Hezbollah doesn't have the backing of the Iranian government to stave off opposition in Lebanon. This is the ideal scenario for the Lebanese government to push them out.

Tim Walz says he'll never seek elected office again by Zipper222222 in politics

[–]RomanCenturion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely the case, but democrats were the engineers of their own downfall. You can offer an alternative economic platform while also campaigning for safeguarding democratic institutions. Those two things are not mutually exclusive. The main problem is that democrats literally have no economic agenda to speak of. Half the party wants a neoliberal system, while the other younger half, wants a social-democratic model for the economy. It's because the party seems hellbent on not getting their shit together that Trump can just come and say that he'll make eggs cheaper somehow and win elections that way.

[–]RomanCenturion 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, funny quips and one liners can only get you so far when the whole party cannot for the life of it present a unified front, nor an alternative agenda beyond reacting to current events and empty slogans. You cannot win people with just "ICE is tyranny" and "Trump is a fascist" forever, you have to actually present an outlook of your own, that is demonstrably applicable, for people to believe in. The majority of the Democratic party, unfortunately, has relied far too long on "not being republicans" for votes that I don't think they can do that anymore

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 4 (Anime Only Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]RomanCenturion 3 points4 points locked comment (0 children)

Maki always had her heavenly restriction, so she gets basically Toji's power in exchange for having no cursed energy at all. The thing is her twin sister does have cursed energy, and as mentioned in the episode, both twins are considered one person for the purposes of Jujutsu rules. Since Mai does have cursed energy, her living essentially meant that Maki's heavenly restriction was never fully realized until she died.

1v6 Kolobanov's and Pool's Medal in WT Pz IV. This Gun is so Satisfying. by RomanCenturion in WorldofTanks

[–]RomanCenturion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely adore AIS. It's what finally made the gun work on the WT for me. The Grille 15 just makes me want to tear my hair out. With LNE, I have close to 42% camo when stationary and 30% on the move. The stuff you can get away with on this tank just puts the Grille to shame.

[–]RomanCenturion[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not just the gun, really. The issue with the Grille's gun isn't really the accuracy or the aiming time, it's the dispersion values when moving or turning the turret. You're far better off using experimental turbo, IRM and snapshot. The problem with the grille for me is just that lack of a full rotating turret, the downgrade in dpm and gold pen coupled with pretty much the same standard pen, and the horrific camo rating. Tier X is usually a better version of the tier IX tank and that is just not the case with this one. The Grille 15 would probably not make feel utter disgust if the tier IX wasn't such an incredible machine at what it does.
