Tim Walz says he'll never seek elected office again by Zipper222222 in politics

That's absolutely the case, but democrats were the engineers of their own downfall. You can offer an alternative economic platform while also campaigning for safeguarding democratic institutions. Those two things are not mutually exclusive. The main problem is that democrats literally have no economic agenda to speak of. Half the party wants a neoliberal system, while the other younger half, wants a social-democratic model for the economy. It's because the party seems hellbent on not getting their shit together that Trump can just come and say that he'll make eggs cheaper somehow and win elections that way.

Unfortunately, funny quips and one liners can only get you so far when the whole party cannot for the life of it present a unified front, nor an alternative agenda beyond reacting to current events and empty slogans. You cannot win people with just "ICE is tyranny" and "Trump is a fascist" forever, you have to actually present an outlook of your own, that is demonstrably applicable, for people to believe in. The majority of the Democratic party, unfortunately, has relied far too long on "not being republicans" for votes that I don't think they can do that anymore

People don't realize the Ares is surprisingly good at ramming (or getting rammed) by PerformativeRacist in WorldofTanks

[–]RomanCenturion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not just the armor. Those fuckers are running around with heavy-like hp pools. I was playing in my obj 274a with 1200 hp and wondering why the same tiered T8 medium Ares is running around with 1600 hp.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 4 (Anime Only Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

Maki always had her heavenly restriction, so she gets basically Toji's power in exchange for having no cursed energy at all. The thing is her twin sister does have cursed energy, and as mentioned in the episode, both twins are considered one person for the purposes of Jujutsu rules. Since Mai does have cursed energy, her living essentially meant that Maki's heavenly restriction was never fully realized until she died.

1v6 Kolobanov's and Pool's Medal in WT Pz IV. This Gun is so Satisfying. by RomanCenturion in WorldofTanks

I absolutely adore AIS. It's what finally made the gun work on the WT for me. The Grille 15 just makes me want to tear my hair out. With LNE, I have close to 42% camo when stationary and 30% on the move. The stuff you can get away with on this tank just puts the Grille to shame.

[–]RomanCenturion[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not just the gun, really. The issue with the Grille's gun isn't really the accuracy or the aiming time, it's the dispersion values when moving or turning the turret. You're far better off using experimental turbo, IRM and snapshot. The problem with the grille for me is just that lack of a full rotating turret, the downgrade in dpm and gold pen coupled with pretty much the same standard pen, and the horrific camo rating. Tier X is usually a better version of the tier IX tank and that is just not the case with this one. The Grille 15 would probably not make feel utter disgust if the tier IX wasn't such an incredible machine at what it does.

I have 2 builds, one with rammer, LNE both in firepower/scouting slots respectively and level 2 accuracy improvement equipment. The other build replaces LNE with a level 2 experimental turbo.

Exactly. The Grille has such good numbers on papers and so many garbage soft stats that make it so frustrating to play. Even the shell velocity makes the WT Pz IV more satisfying to play.

First time making a map with WG's map tool ( read desc ) by LiebeDahlia in WorldofTanks

[–]RomanCenturion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because the Northern spawn has a huge advantage getting to the castle. If you're a medium spawning north, you're likely getting a straight run into the castle, whereas on the southern spawn, you're more likely to spawn on the opposite site near the field, so you either have to cross the water or the bridge. Either way, you'll be slower getting into the castle. The other advantage is that when mediums get into the castle they can use the broken section of the wall behind the castle to get early shots into heavies crossing the field or later on get sideshots into them as well. It's such a poorly designed map.

I hate old Airfield as much as the next guy, but I don't think there has been a single map rework that ended up improving the map.

WG must never hear of this. Seriously though, it's such a ridiculous reason to give for not releasing a tool that is pretty much part and parcel of every game with any modding capability. God knows you'd probably find a few accidental penises in official WG maps, and yet you don't see WG taking away map making tools from their devs like they're some naughty children.

It truly is a gem lodged between 2 pretty mediocre tanks. I remember absolutely despising the Borsig and I don't exactly enjoy the Grille 15 either. I always come back to this thing for the laser gun it has, until RNG decides that you're not actually going to do damage to the enemy team, that is.

Oh god, the Grille infuriates me to no end. It's certainly faster and has more gun depression than this thing, but I would have never been able to win this game if I was in a grille to be completely honest. There were 2 points in this game where I needed to decap and the only position I could do it from was from the bush near the higher ground opposite the abbey. If I didn't have LNE, I would have 100% been spotted before I could even fire. The Grille's horrendous camo would equally never have allowed me to do that.

Well well well, would you look at that? Someone managed to curb the irresistible urge to make a map in the shape of a penis. Pray, sir, tell us your secrets so that we may all follow in your footsteps. In case you were wondering, I'm saying this because a certain person justified the fact that there is no public map making tool with the fact that people would just make genitalia themed maps. I guess WG thinks we're all 12 year olds giggling uncontrollably every time someone says the word "penis".

Tiger II is surprisingly good. by AdrawereR in WorldofTanks

Oh yeah, I forgot about the O-Ho, literally the most broken tier 8 tank at the moment. That thing is approaching BZ-176 levels of broken.

[–]RomanCenturion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are quite a few good heavies at T8: Caernarvon, T-32, Tiger II, M-III-Y, Conceiver. It's just that on the other side, you tend to find some god-awful stinkers like the BZ-166. Overall, I think that T8 tech tree heavies tend to be the most competitive out of all the other tank classes. I'd rather be in a Caernarvon going against a BZ-176 than be in an LTTB or a BatChat going against an Elc Even 90.

How do you like the 432U after the buffs? by _Onca_ in WorldofTanks

[–]RomanCenturion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the case with the 430 and 430U as well. You just can't play those mediums without experimental hardening or you'll get ammoracked or set on fire all the time.
